Closed up in Canada years ago... reopened as the The Source by Circuit City. When Circuit City went down they were bought out by Bell Canada and now run as just The Source.

Re: 3.5" HDD enclosure AC/DC adapters make me uneasy

Most times they don't make their own power bricks and just sourced ones that meet their needs.

I keep a small pile of them since they are fairly similar and in case I cannot find the one that came with whatever I am plugging in.

I do read the item to match the voltage and current.

Re: Strange thought of the day.

I'm not sure if this goes here or in the Unix section, but I have having this really strange thought about that somewhere there a smart 8 or 9 y/o kid who has built a computer and has Linux running without any help from his or her parents. And said kid is better at doing both than I am. Is this rem...

Current the cable can handle.
I saw a 2A and a 3A on the links you gave.

Some phones require the higher current for either faster charge or just charging at all.

Re: Why No longer pirate, from an ex-pirate.

If you are pirating the paid equivalent of FOSS programs, wow, that's stupid in a completely different way than braving the inherent dangers. (to be clear, I am saying that the paid software worth pirating doesn't have a real FOSS equivalent) Hmm, I am trying to think of examples of this. Windows a...

Is that due to a new version of Office? We're just in the early stages of getting Windows 10 in our environment, and will likely be going from Office 2010 to 2016. it is Office 2010. I don't think we have tried 2016. Many of the plug ins are not yet certified for 2016. One issue we see is Excel jus...

To note for our company we are up to date on all virus checkers and force our users to be up to date. We are not vulnerable on the worm side of the whole thing. The firewall, email scanning and AV should catch the whole thing, so that leaves PICNIC errors... It is the outliers like said WinXP machin...

Not unusual for business. So many corporate apps (not in house but purchased) are not supported well with modern operating systems. Many of our plant controls still require XP SP2 (SP3 breaks them). How does that work when these types of viruses may compromise XP or Win7 systems? Are the viruses bl...

I've used Abrahams TV repair in past. it is a guy who does this out of his Garage on Weber street. He charges a diagnosis fee and then takes the diagnosis off the repair cost. I pretty sure that you can say AOC is a respected brand now.
They tend to be a little cheaper.

On the vid card you may want to look at the GTX 1060 or the RX-480 to shave a few dollars off.
