I'll keep it short so as to not take over this thread but it is somewhat related to the OP's topic. This is my next purchase for the car. https://www.aptx.com/aptx-hd Erm, there's nothing High Definition about Bluetooth wireless audio (well, assuming that it conforms to spec, at least). The "H...

Re: .flac to .mp3 conversion?

What phone are you using these days, JBI? APTx is helpful, if your phone supports it. But it's still Bluetooth. And your audio quality is only as good as your worst point. I wonder what the standard bitrate/codec whatever is in common Bluetooth audio profiles. I'm only using a cheap Kenwood head un...

Re: .flac to .mp3 conversion?

I'd like to carry around the whole collection, but it just isn't feasible. Fortunately, I don't listen to most of it that often, and my entire "active" collection fits into a 128GB SD-card (as VBR-0 MP3's). It works great, but I do get irritated when people ask me why phones need an SD-ca...

Armchair self-psychoanalysis time... I've come to the realization that I've increasingly been listening to darker, more aggressive/dissonant music over the past few years. I find things like Meshuggah, Atheist, early Opeth and Mastodon, Intronaut, etc. piquing my interest more frequently of l...

You say you are not chasing cores and I understand that but in the same breath want to future proof and you use it only for gaming. I think its safe to say that games ARE going to use more cores in the future and maybe one of these, since you are sticking with Intel may be the better option. i7-7800X

Get 2x16GB RAM.

I'm sure a big part of it is the result of their $17 an hour minimum wage because that price for the MB is beyond belief.

Curious what folks think of this and even if it happens are we to really know for sure that some deal had not been worked out with a place like Newegg for instance...I would hope not. https://www.hardocp.com/news/2017/06/16/seasonic_pulls_plug_on_review_samples_retail_direct_for_reviews

Re: Coffee Lake 6 core, this August with z370 chipsets?

Interesting, yet another one of the reasons I won't consider Ryzen is how impractical it is for me as an ITX person, the lack of a gpu means more heat, noise and cost in a small case. Intel onboard is perfect for my needs and it's extremely possible Intel will be the first to make a 6 core CPU with...

"As I pointed out above, PC Magazine, which is a large mainstream publication, listed CPU-Z as the very first benchmark in its RyZen review. Don't think for one second that AMD isn't cognizant of that fact." So AFTER the release of RyZen AMD chose to alter something, is this what you are t...

Good god man you have issues, I read the original thread and then saw this post and said to myself could it be...and sure enough here you are. I only recently even noticed the cpus benchmark as I am well aware of the tried and true benchmarking utilities...but AMD chose this one to reach the masses ...

Re: Coffee Lake 6 core, this August with z370 chipsets?

Also, we're getting vastly off topic here, if it suits me or not is irrelevant, either Ryzen 8/16 @ 4ghz will suit me, or Coffee 6/12 @ 4.2ghz (or higher, presumably) will suit me. One of the 2 systems will beat my current one. I personally suspect if the Coffee Lake exceeds 4.5ghz and is otherwise...

Re: Bye, Bloomfield: First Big PC Overhaul

If you want another 7 year processor, spend the money and get the 1700X. Save the money from going a step down on the motherboard and the PSU. 750W is a lot for a system with just a 960. 600 watt gold or titanium should be just fine. This was my initial thought as well, move down to a 'cheaper' sea...

Re: Surprise! Creator 10 Update Applied...

No complaints for me so far and I might even say this has been the 'best' major update in quite awhile, not so much for the features but that combined with no issues makes me say this. Certainly seems the most problem free here as well. Same amount of machines, though most of them sit unused. They ...

You know Chuck, I can't tell if you're being serious or trolling. But I'm just going to imagine for one second you're serious. So as far as Intel "sucking," let's state these facts: 1) Intel is ten fold the size of AMD with many more engineers and dollars at its disposal. They should have...

Re: Hey guys!! Need a bit of help!

Considering you have already upgraded the video card to Nvidia then I would grab a G-Sync Monitor but no more than a 27 inch I would think to not push the card too hard.

You could go 4k but I'm thinking it will stress the 1060, if not now then certainly in a year or two as newer games are released.
