bug: when i click on thumbs up or down, the count doesn't refresh. sometimes it's just blank. people generally dont like change. especially big one here. but i'm gonna stick with TR. look, you've seen what's happening to tech review sites all around. companies are hiring "tech influencers"...

in multi thread, 9900k is already equal. can icelake be 30% more efficient at same performance? maybe
in single thread 9900k is still 5% better. can icelake be 30% more efficient at same performance? yes

Re: RyZen 2 Desktop CONFIRMED... to not have 16 cores

i dont know what everyone is excited about. zen2 is a big disappointment. 2700x scores 1827 on CB multi-thread. that makes zen2 equivalent (and 9900k) about 13.4% better. not too shabby. however assume single thread is also scaled up by 13.4%, its CB single-thread score is still 5% behind that of 99...

Re: AMD: Remember When we said we'd kill Nvidia last? WE LIED!

remember GTX 1180 is still a thing. it wont come with RT and unknown about tensors (maybe cut down as well), but that's what vega vii / vega 20 has to compete with. gtx 1180 will be cheaper than rtx 2080.

agree with Chrispy_ for the most part 16 core and 32 threads on the top end ryzen for am4 2 zen2 chiplets with a cut down io or 1 chiplet with 1 navi (much later) + io. so at last, an 8 core apu. power delivery is not a problem unless you want all 16 cores running at 5ghz (or whatever zen2 can do, i...

Re: Time to finally take the Ryzen plunge?

The Ryzen 3000 Apu's are Ryzen+ on 12nm.
The Ryzen 2000 Apu's are Ryzen on 14nm
Amd said that Epyc (Rome) will be the first 7nm Ryzen 2, so Ryzen 3000 CPU will only be announced some time after that.
rumour is CES will see Ryzen 3000 Apu, not CPU

have you tried ForceTrim ? it creates a few large file entries on the disk to cover most of the free space, then deletes them. it depends on the TRIM feature of the OS to clean up. it seems to work for me, on SSD and flash drives. 449kb file ForceTrim.exe 224kb zipped it does not fill the data pages...

i looked on imaging-resource.com, and found nothing matches your requirements.
for recent pocketable RAW, there's Olympus TG-5 and Panasonic ZS70. both released last year, both around $400

edit: ZS70 is also known as TZ90 in some markets. it has 30x zoom (24-720mm eq). TG-5 is waterproof

if you already have spent the time to configure the win10 just the way you like it, then it's faster to spend 10 minutes to clone and restore. if you just made a clean install then reinstall doesn't take much longer.

Re: Windows 10 and Ryzen - Performance Bug

If that's the case there should be a way to switch this behavior on and off via a power profile or something. Jeff suggested https://twitter.com/jkampman_tr/status/837662502909534209 to use Windows' "high performance" power profile for 2-5% performance increase on Ryzen. I wonder if it's ...

AotS supports 16 cpu threads: http://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/476825/page/1/#3630793 so a 8 core 16 threads zen cpu is fully utilized. even if Zen is released at 20% faster at 3.5/3.8Ghz, it is only as fast as i7 6700. that is when using all cores/thread are used. so, IPC of zen is only abou...

I'll echo what Duct Tape Dude said, the limited TDP are really holding back the performance on the regular notebooks. Thanks to CScottG and Coran Fixx for specific recommendations.
