Hi, so I'm trying to put together a LGA3647 workstation. I've assembled all the parts and the machine powers on, but it doesn't get past POST. I get a "No memory detected" error and I can't figure this one out. I've tried installing the memory (4x32GB) in different slots and the furthest I...
So is Windows 10 anywhere as bad as people been saying it is? The privacy concerns, the forced updates bricking the system, Microsoft trying to force everyone to use the Windows Store, and etc. No. Just install StartisBack ($3) and you'll barely notice you're not using W7. I recently had to run the...
Thanks for all the responses. Is your current computer up to all the tasks you are doing? For the most part yes. My notebook has a i5-6300HQ w/16GB RAM and a GTX 960M. The only weakness, as you can imagine, is the 960M which is really starting to show it's age in modern games. I'm not sure how good ...
I haven't owned a desktop in about 10 years, and thought it would be fun to build one again. There is no rush. I was thinking of doing a AM4 mini-ITX build, but is it a good time to be buying parts or should I wait a little longer?
does windows shut down or does your computer just spontaneously powers off? it could be a heat issue, not necessarily of your CPU/GPU, but also motherboard components if you can't pinpoint the cause down to dust-bunnies blocking fan vents, then I would start looking into a warranty replacement or fo...
I have used Torguard (yes it's an affiliate link) for over a year and I highly recommend them. Here's why: -Low monthly cost Use coupon code "TGLifeTime50" for a recurring 50% off discount. That gets you a year of service for <$30 (<$2.50/mo). They have a 7 day money back guarantee and rap...
The biggest issue is really the hard drive. Since you're still using spinning media, be aware of when it is spinning if you need to move it. Any jerky movements while in operation may damage the disks. Also, never use the "Power saver" power option in windows.
I'm still pissed at intel for their dirty tricks during the early athlon days. Even as a middle schooler, I could tell that intel was up to no good. There was no way that AMD had such a performance lead and popularity among the enthusiast crowd yet there were almost no AMD machines being sold at big...
This PureVPN deal actually looks pretty solid. I personally use torguard and like them. They're well established and have been around for years. Support OpenVPN on DDWRT routers too. They have good speed even with encryption on (saturates my wifi card): https://i.imgur.com/7fpeQCr.png $30/yr with co...
Any phone that supports Verizon will be clearly labelled as such. None of the zenphones support verizon/sprint. The confusion you may have about the GSM phone labeling is that since 2013 or so, all CDMA phones are required to also be GSM (sim card) compatible/unlocked, but may not necessarily suppo...
I haven't used VLC in years. It was nice seveal years ago when it was THE alternative to paid software and windows media player. I've since moved to zoomplayer. It's a powerful player that I suggest people look into.
Earlier, TR posted an article about HP refreshing their Omen lineup, but didn't report that among the new laptops was one sporting a mobile RX 460. If you have a .edu email account, you can get MS Office 2016 for pretty cheap ($30, I bought it for $17 after tax on sale): http://www.journeyed.com/product/search?qk_srch=MSWAH This is for the full 2016 suite, download to your computer, lifetime license (not a subscription). I've personally bought ...
http://wccftech.com/amd-vega-10-gpu-milestone/ A bit of a shocker. I though and assumed the Canadian ATI guys were behind AMD's latest. What happened to the 'original' team? And if they're still there, what are they doing? Does AMD outsource all GPU development to China now? How the heck does a bun...
I bought the AT M50 new for $105 to replace my HD280 before they became popular. I thought they were overrated and sold them. Got the HFI-780 instead, and now also own the HD650.
Well the diagram is just giving an example of the ideal cardiod microphone setup, given their range of 120 degrees, if setting up for a choir. I agree that your best bet would be to hang the microphones from the ceiling. Depending on how big the stage is, 3-4 should be sufficient to cover the entire...
