Re: Reality Comes to Paradise - Valve Layoffs

Well for some of you this should come as no surprise, for others I'm sure it'll shatter some worldly views. I suppose you can only have a decade long vacation for so long before you actually have to put out a real product. Steam could only support all of Valve for so long. Decade long vacation? The...

Well, their sites are up and functioning again... Though there are no announcements about the reasons for downtime... Oh well, maybe game developers will learn something from that and will stop being so "cheap" and would instead start developing their own versions of automatic anti-cheat ...

In what way is the Define Mini worse for you? AFAIK the Define is targeted at less noise than the Arc. I haven't used the Arc, but speaking about the Define Mini. The front design is terrible. Not in terms of aesthetics but function. The fan filters are a huge pain to use. The filters screw into th...

Re: BlackBerry 10 thoughts?

Thoughts? I couldn't possibly have any, there are no shipping BlackBerry 10 products. There is tons of potential though. There's honestly few high quality options in the smartphone market. My Atrix 4G is approaching 2 years old now. If I hadn't dropped it in water there would be zero reason to repla...

The Thanksgiving and Christmas sales follow too closely. Most of the games I've already picked up. Darksiders II interests me but the pricing is all messed ($25 for the game standalone or $20 for the Franchise pack that includes the original and DLC for II, i got the first as part of the THQ Humble ...

Under $300 by far the best deal going is the new Samsung Chromebook. Totally serious, great piece of kit for the price. Everything else in that range is fairly junky. As long as she doesn't need any specific/specialized software it might be a great buy. Chromebooks make a good deal of sense for col...

I would disagree. Not every Noctua product is great, some are merely good and other's very average (especially with price in consideration). You can spend as much for a full heatsink + fan assembly that's 95% of a Noctua for the price of some of their fans.

This does not sadden me. Scythes products have been very hit or miss. Just because it said Scythe on the box didn't mean you had something top notch. Yes, Scythe products are hit and miss. But I don't know a single company who your last sentence is true. Scythe USA also offered products like the S-...

That's too bad. I hope another supplier comes along. I've owned numerous Scythe fans and a couple of their heatsinks too. Always worked well for me. I especially appreciated their Shuriken series, great performance given the small size, low noise and reasonable price.

drfish, do you have any pets? I'd consider the Neato as a gift for my mom but I'm concerned about her dogs. One is a yorkie that tips the scales at just over 2lbs, the poor dog is also blind in one eye. If the dog was hit by one of these it probably wouldn't be good.

I have a limited budget. It goes towards game developers that actually feel like putting out a quality product instead of halfassing it. It's sad there's such a significant segment of PC gamers who, like you, care only about graphics. If your number one criteria for a game is graphics then you dese...

Good on 'ya mate.
