Or, possibly, it exists to satisfy retention policies for some segment of industry/government. Yeah, the Recoverable Items folder is actually used for retention policies. Re: That honeymoon didn't last long

My old backup is not the issue, it's that iTunes won't let me backup my new iPhone at all until I enter the encrypted password. I'm not losing too much without access to my old backup, and there isn't anything on my iPhone that I'd need to backup that I can't periodically transfer off manually , so...

They use it in large batches, then don't use the printer for long periods of time.

I agree with finding a print shop. They are perfect for this situation.

For people who aren't drooling sexists, the ads are equally ridiculous, and you should be able to see that even without prompting by "feminazis".

Re: Can I run 8 to 12 Monitors from one Laptop ?

I also like your idea of shipping the monitors but in that case I might as well ship a desktop too ? Yes, you could, but putting a small form desktop in a suitcase isn't a big deal. Not to be a drag, but the problem isn't just that you need 12 monitors on site, you also need to have a space/mount t...

Why do you need to use 12 monitors for the demonstration? Nobody is going to have 12 monitors that are compatible wth whatever you come up with, but everyone has projectors.

This seems like a thing that shouldn't be a thing for those that live in first world countries. Last time I saw someone use a wood-burning stove was an Acadian historical village, it worked and they made real food but everyone in that town has either and electric or gas-powered stove, they were jus...

Re: ARM and its licensees are a real threat to Intel

iPhone revenue alone trounces Intels revenue: ... That is still really missing the point. The portion of that revenue going to ARM itself is trivial. Even if you added on a prorated amount of what Apple spends developing chips, it's small. On the other hand, when you or an OEM buy a $200 CPU from I...

Re: ARM and its licensees are a real threat to Intel

Looking at unit volume is extremely misleading. Go redo those charts using revenue (or better, find someone else who has, since it would take a fair amount of work to be accurate).

Also, Intel, like Apple, has all the profit, so they have a lot more margin for error than any of their rivals.

The school will definitely have desktops/workstations available somewhere for actual rendering, and I would recommend using them even if you did have a high-end laptop. If you want to do the setup work on a laptop, you really need more information about the program and what they expect. So without m...

Re: Can you rewrite CC contracts in the US?

If they agree to it, sure. Realistically they won't willingly do that, and if they do it accidentally, whether or not a court will consider your modified contract a valid contract will depend on the details of the process and the whim of a judge.

Both of these are arbitrary justifications. I say "jif" because that's what occurred to me before I had heard anyone try to say it, but since GIF is an acronym that's read often and said rarely, I doubt there will ever be a single way to pronounce it. Arbitrary, adj: from randomness or wh...

Since the G in Graphics is hard, so is the G in the verbalized acronym. Then the developer should've had the good sense to invent an acronym that began with a J, instead of providing most of the word "gift." Both of these are arbitrary justifications. I say "jif" because that's ...
