Re: TR Redesign: bugs - features - tips

Hello nerds,

Is everyone still complaining about things that haven't been fixed or addressed?

Haven't been here in months. Site appears to be a repost not now. No more complete sentences. Not necessary.

Re: Upgrade Questions; CPU's, Mobo Brands, Cooler

I did lots of photos editing with my 2700k when it was running at 4.7. it's been running 99%< since I bought and and has degraded a decent amount. In my experience, 4 cores wasn't enough for editing photos, and doubling it to 8 would still not be enough. I would look forward to the 3950x coming out ...

Zen 2 Threadripper talk and news (rumors too)

Sup, I am impatiently waiting for Zen 2 Threadrippers to be unleashed by AMD. This feels like GoT where the 64 core will cause Intel to go up in flames. I'm trying to compile all the news/rumors so I can to get a little more information to feed the insatiable upgrade beast. Anandtech seems to think ...

Re: DDR4 Clock speeds impact on performance

Speed is only one factor. Latency can have a huge impact, too. Ryzen 3 is especially impacted by this. More than anything, it's about the Infinity Fabric speed. If you're lazy and cheap (I know I am), then DDR 3200 CL14 is your best bet. You can get a LOT more out of Ryzen 3, though, if you really ...

Re: DDR4 Clock speeds impact on performance

Hello, We don't have to google too much to see there is an FPS increase when you get higher clock memories. The thing is: this increase is often near 10%, while people say that the quality of the gaming experience changed greatly. I just want to know if this is a placebo effect or there is somethin...

Insulting the new editor in chief and minimizing her capabilities and contributions is a bad look, gang. I'm out of this thread and not looking back. Anybody who wants to reach me can PM. Are you referring to the analysis of her attitude or the truthfulness of her tech knowledge? Running away and n...

Re: Something's different...

Yet you appear to be manufacturing a point of contention that was never previously mentioned by anyone. How is that helpful? I think that Srsly_Bro is right. Sweatshopking is surely correct when he says that "Renee was shocked and hurt by the reaction she received here", and it's easier (...

Re: Something's different...

I hope Renee doesn't think that we are upset and lashing out that it somehow has anything to do with her gender. Gerbils haven't been shy about what's upsetting them. They've mentioned at least 16 specific problems with the site, as well as general disapproval, in reaction to her introductory post....

Re: Something's different...

I hope Renee doesn't think that we are upset and lashing out that it somehow has anything to do with her gender. In the modern were, it's easy for people to blame others and bury their heads in sand. This isn't a bunch of nerds picking on a girl; this is a bunch of nerds upset over a very poorly han...

Re: Something's different...

I know that Renee was shocked and hurt by the reaction she received here. To be fair, the shock and hurt were reciprocal. It's like showing up to your job you've had for years and you have a new office, new floor, new duties, they gave you a 10 year old laptop and told you to get on with it, with n...

The front page layout and comments are too cumbersome to use. I come here once a week instead of front page everyday.

Re: Something's different...

Afraid it's not going to get help. AFAIK it's intentionally doing that as a play to convince other bots that TR is more active than it is. This is not something we've been told by the new PHBs, just something we're guessing at. Hopefully, when some more writers are brought in, they will stop playin...
