Re: Give us 10 good reasons you should win a Corsair RM1000i Special Edition here

Reason #1:  I am good at lying through my teeth to get what I want, so I deserve a reward for my blatant prevarication ability!  With that in mind, let us get to the next nine reasons why I obviously deserve to win this prize... Reason #2: My computer deserves to be as powerful as myself. I deserve ...

Re: update 9/9/15 issues

TRy reinstalling the missing apps. Also just reinstall all apps that did work but no longer do, which worked for me. Another interesting annoyance I personally had was, I had to go into all settings, and toggle all the switches, even if they were set the way I wanted. If it was off, and I wanted off...

Re: The TR Internet Videos Thread

I'll throw in the slideshow I made with Blender, for that "Ken Burnes Effect", using "import images as planes". It would have turned out better, if I'd known at the time to turn off mipmapping...

Re: Enter TR's Dear Diary contest here

Dear Diary: Another month spent in this closet, unused. Oh for the days when the owner would lug me around at college, not wincing at the weight of the lead-acid battery that powered me. In my youth, I was considered advanced, with my bubble-memory cartridges and 640x80 pixel monochrome LCD display....

Re: EMET 4.0 is out.

Heh. It has a few kinks to work out. Adding Gimp 2.8 to the application list will cause a wall of notification messages if you use "audit only", and gimp won't run on "stop on exploit" mode. It does this even if you uncheck all those little checkboxes in the gimp 2.8 row. Everyth...

EMET 4.0 is out.

The Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit version 4.0 has been out since June , and I only just found out about it! New features and a better user interface than before. I like it. I don't know why Microsoft doesn't make this toolkit more visible for average folks. Especially for us Windows XP wei...

That pic kind of generically reminds me of the "K-9" unit from the old Dr. Who TV series.

Re: "Get creative with PC parts" contest entry thread

Argh! Let's try this again... My old PC-5000 with it's separate 5-1/4 floppy drive for it's head. The floppy and DVD drive were supposed to be a hat... :p Behold the ultra modern '286 8088-powered beast, using high-tech magnetic bubble memory cartridges to load up that MS-DOS 2.01 goodness! http...
