Re: $1100 High End Build

I am not one of the experts here, but a week ago i posted a question about a build very similar to yours for pc gaming and some light editing. There are a some helpful answers including your question about the ssd and a detailed answer about a sound card. I suggest you read it before anybody replies...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

After much back and forth i'm just going to go with the Dell u2312hm you linked, seems to be the best balance of everything i'm after. The Korean ips are sort of a risk and i don't really want to take the fps drop and the dell u2412 16:10 ratio put me off it. So this seems to be the best way to go u...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

Was chatting to a friend who i didn't know knew much about building pc's, He told me to take your advice about the q270 but maybe wait for the AMD 8000 series which is just around the corner, maybe January or even December since they are rumored to have quite a big performance increase. I didn't rea...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

I decided i wont be getting a korean ips.

Will getting a 1920x1200 monitor be an issue with games? Not sure how many games support that resolution and i dont want to have black bars on each side.

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

Okay thanks for that info, i was considering that shimian but i think i would rather run at 60 fps on a smaller resolution then take a hit on fps from playing at 1440p. Only other ips screen i could find for a similar price was this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-052-DE&...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

Thanks again chrispy, that's another reason i went for the 670 over the 7950 i thought it could be slightly more future proof. I hate to drag this thread on longer but i was having a look at the eBay ips monitors you were talking about, would you be able to link me to the monitor you use/would recom...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

Good info here on a study about air cooling, just happen to be using a define r3 and very similar components to me: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/02/10/the-big-cooling-investigation/2 I would probably do the setup you said plus 1 more top exhaust. I only really have 2 other queries: 1: Is it...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

Thanks for the reply, just happened to be checking the site as soon as you posted if it seems like im lurking haha. The games included with the 7950 are not my kind of games really, Scan.com has a 2 game bundle with the 670 of Assassins creed 3 and Borderlands 2 which i would prefer and was planning...

Re: Building performance pc advice appreciated

Thanks for the reply guys, taken a look at your suggestions and i'm going to make some changes. Right now looks like: i5-3570k Asus P8Z77-M Z77 (heard good things about the maximus v gene, don't know whether the extra £40 is worth it?) Corsair vengeance 8gb ( I already have this at home) SAMSUNG 128...

Building performance pc advice appreciated

Hey Sba i am putting together a PC mainly for gaming although it could be used for graphics/editing at a later date, budget is around £1200 maybe a few hundred above at the most. I'm from the UK so i cant buy from newegg or any of those sites, mostly Scan.com. I would like it to be pretty quiet but ...
