Re: Anyone see this? Full Radeon 8xxx specs?

The difference is when NVidia recycles a chip design they almost always put it in lower in the lineup. So a 240 became a 330 a 460 became a 550 and so on. How is that significant in any way? Case in point: Not too long ago, a certain large online retailer had 2 bottom end Nvidia discrete GPUs liste...

That's one of the keys. In a game its rarely every black on white.. the less contrast there is the less you can see it.

Re: AT&T DSL Issue: Intermittent Lagging

Everything lags or whatever it is. The videos stop buffering and games stop responding. Sometimes we'll get a "this page cannot be displayed" message. I've got a new Netgear modem that didn't fix the problem. If it's packet loss, what could be causing it and why can't the phone company se...

Re: AT&T DSL Issue: Intermittent Lagging

It can also be a node halfway between you and wow. Thus outside att. Does everything lag or just certain websites and games? If some games lag but others never do its very likely a node issue and not att or your modem.

Re: Difference of different FPS

Different people have different thresholds. I can tolerate and enjoy games even down to 4-5 fps if they are the right kind of game to play at that speed. Same with pixel density I can tolerate large pixels some cant. Sane things happen with music quality and cars and well everything. Lucky people ca...

Re: Scratched Computer Display

You can try a clear wax candle.. rub it over the scratch to fill then buff lightly. First try in an edge scratch to make sure the wax doesn't make things worse...

Also try lens scratch repair kits for eyeglasses and cameras...

Re: Good Surge Protector

What I used to do was use a simple cheap wall mount one socket unit and then connect a strip bar protector to that. That way the el cheapo would burn out way before the strip unit started to get old.. And when it did I would throw em both out. To the strip I connected various things AND a ups powrri...

Re: Probably the stupidist idea I have ever seen...

Its not a bad idea really. I suspect they focus tested and found a large enough segment of the pop would actualy like this and so just offered it as an option for those people.

Always remember there always exists a group of people.. rather large in number who think completely differently from you.

Re: A tale of two powershots

Never ever go anywhere like that with just one camera so get the cheaper one it also happens to have the better zoom and that's very important as a lot of what you want to take pics of you DONT want to be close to;/

Then get a cheaper camera as a backup.

Re: Will PS4 help popularize OpenGL in a big way?

The fact of the matter is the consoles will have little impact on pc games other then the obvious ram usage multithreding usage and such. The use of opengl on the console wont effect the fact its most likely almost all the pc versions will use direct x.

Ok the best thing to do is play the games on your current rig as best as you can and wait till well after the consoles pop to then get your next gaming rig. You want to fully nail down just what the hell devs do pc wise when the consoles show up.. they could start using a lot more textures and highe...

Easy cleaning setup...

One small shopvac with blower option ONLY used for cleaning in blow mode...

Some small and medium sized artist paint brushes,

One good room air cleaner. Or a window with a box fan blowing out.

I aready have 35 keys saved up;/ They give em out fairly often.

As for the invincibles just google em and exploit thier weaknesses. All of them have a spot they cant hurt you or a tactic they cant defend against.

For ssd never ever EVER defrag as its not a bloody disc so it doesnt need it EVER. You only needed to defrag discs because of where the data could wind up on the da...
