Re: Double Encryption possible but is it more secure ?

Does it get harder to decrypt? Regarding plain old theoretical cryptographical attacks, i.e., a nice playing attacker that has your encrypted data and also knows some bits of the plaintext: Yes, somewhat. - Does it make sense in real life? Only if you consider attackers at the level of large governm...

Re: What is the safest way to protect data on a HDD

This hard disk is being sent overseas to someone else who has a totally different system with totally different configuration. Ok, so there is no need for any system partition at all. You just want to send "data" in a format that can be used by the receiving party with as little effort as...

Re: What is the safest way to protect data on a HDD

Use Truecrypt with Full Disk Encryption, no containers or just partitions - ALL of it. Nothing else if you do not know EXACTLY what you are doing. The problem with system partitions is that temporary data, i.e., part of your data in RAM can be stored on your hard disk. Among other things that can be...

Re: Cableing question for all the Electrical Engineers out t

The largest issue with closely packing different, electrical (high frequency) signal-lines into one cable is interference, i.e., the signals would effect each other via their electromagnetic emanations and thus get corrupted. Such cables and especially the...

Re: VHDL?

Damn, wished I had seen this thread a bit earlier. I actually LOVE writing VHDL - resp. designing RTL (Register Transfer Logic) - and consider myself not too shabby at it, sadly my work offers such projects only from time to time. So i hope my input is still somewhat useful and not too late for you/...
