I must have got a good one. Not a single issue with the same model other than the buzz at certain angles. Any problems and I'm going 4k HDR OLED or QLED.

Re: Anything I need to take note of running mismatched SSDs in RAID0?

My only concern is running SSD's in Raid 0. You increase the risk of fault without any increase in performance outside of benchmarks and very specific tasks. SSD's eliminated the need for striping for performance. Unless you are running some seriously heavy I/O based tasks your better off with the e...

Re: Intel HD 530 graphics gaming build.

Don't do it! Unless it's some tiny media box and you are doing a bit of very light gaming on the side just get a cheap graphics card used if you have to. Intel Graphics drivers are painful. I tried the 5775c with Iris pro graphics and it's not worth the headache. Stuttering, artifacting and low comp...

What are you folks talking about no price drops? Fury X can be had for $399 right now. It has been this way for a couple of weeks now.

In the US there's a $250 GTX 1060 available right here, and that's practically the same price the Rx 480 is going at, so it's not really some huge markup: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125879&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=IGNEFL071916&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL071916-_-E...

Re: Will Vulkan displace DirectX 12?

There is a ton of wishful thinking here. At this point it would take a major screw up by Microsoft to get developers to jump over to Vulkan. Vulkan is not going to offer any major feature set over DX12 at this point. It's not like back in the day where we were still taking leaps and bounds in graphi...

Re: Shock! Looking for an RPG

If I listed every 16-bit RPG I played in the 90's we'd be here a long time. I got good mileage out of my Genesis and SNES, for sure. The previous decade was heaven for fan translations (Tales of Phantasia, Treasure Hunter G, and Seiken Densetsu 3, to name but a few), but that scene has dimmed to a ...

Mass Effect? Great story and gets more actionlike as the series progresses.
Assuming you've played the KoTOR series.
Dragon Age is good but in the first game you'll need to do some micromanaging.

Where I live, doctors (student doctors, even!) are regularly handed 40-hour shifts. i'm not kidding. they have to be awake for 40 hours and diagnose illnesses and prescribe drugs. i have no idea how or why it's legal. I'm no doctor, but i have several friends who are. They slogged through it. With ...

I work in a ER as a nurse. During a particularly bad flu season which a couple of employees came down sick I worked 3 back to back 16 hr night shifts and then one 12 hour shift on the fourth day. Nice payday but I was beyond exhausted and ended up calling off 2 days later. Now days if they need a do...

People have mentioned the games. Having both systems the Xbox is the only one out with exclusives worth playing right now. One of those happens to be a racing game. What makes the Xbox a winner for me is the Plex app. It is the best machine for media right now (Even better if you have the Kinect) My...

Nothing will replace the originals: The CB Hash and, yes, Omelet were my favorite! All it needed was some Tabasco. Later they added Beef Frankfurters which were awesome. But looking over the new list, man have they come a long way since I was on Active Duty: Omelet with ham was your favorite? Somet...

Can't tell you much other than to grind through the first 2-3 hours of it. Then it gets good with a few highs and lows. I found the Dwarf Noble to be the most entertaining origins story but the others were decent as well. Download the improved texture pack, it makes it much easier on the eyes.

I have almost the exact same system down to the overclock on my my CPU, just different wattage on the PS/Win8/Latest Catalyst. I run games just fine. It might just be a bad card. It's quite loud now that the weather has changed and it's a bit hotter in the house.

It used the old Second Edition AD&D rules, with the really annoying bookkeeping abstracted away (it's what computers do best). Go for the eyes, Boo, go for the eyes! D&D worked great for computer RPG's until they moved on to 3rd edition. There are a ton of classic games prior to changing th...

I picked up a cheap 64GB drive a little while back and used it for the SSD caching. It's a significant boost to my 5400RPM 2TB drive I was using for storage/apps. It's a great feature and you get some of the benefits of a SSD for alot more storage. I still have a SSD for OS and a few apps but I will...
