Unfortunately not. I rent a room in a basement suite, and I also rent a garage in which I work on my car. I cant do it in the basement suite due to the smell. The garage is pretty much the same temperature as outdoors, which can range between 2C and 18C this time of year, there is very little insula...

Question for JBI

Just picked up a home brew kit. THe only place I can do it is in the garage. I was gonna build a box lined with closed-cell roofing insulation and put a lightbulb inside of it. Think thats gonna keep it around the right temperature?

Cant logon to MSN

This is driving me nuts.

Ive tried logging into MSN through MSN messenger, Windows Messenger, eBuddy, Web messenger, on 3 different computers on different ISPs, each time it errors out

But on all the same computers, other accounts log in just fine, only mine wont.

Any thoughts?

I have to complete another full season of amateur rally-x on grass and gravel courses before I can apply for a stage rally license. That shot was actually taken at a Subaru convention in Hood River, Oregon back in August. They had a rally school there, it was pretty cool and I learned a lot. The car...

a 120mm Nexus is no good if it causes your processor to overheat.

Anyway, its already done and paid for.

Meh, I chose AMD because I know them well. Im comfortable with them.

I chose the 7950 GT because it was only 70 more than the 7900

Ok.. Ive sort of figured out whats causing it

It was actually me unplugging the USB keyboard, which I used to do all the time (I dont leave it plugged in since its in a car and keys tend to get pressed at random). Whenever I unplug something from USB, everything stops working until I reboot.

Always happens, sometimes with 5 minutes of being powered on, sometimes not for an hour. I dont THINK its a power issue, Im only running a single laptop HD, the screen and the computer itself. Before I was running the above plus a desktop HD with no issues, but Ill try turning down the voltage/speed...

USB stops working

Hey Ive got a weird problem on my latest iteration of my CarPC Im running a Sempron 3000 on an Asus K8V-MX/S, and after some seemingly random amount of time, USB will stop working. The computer doesnt freeze or anything, but the touchscreen, keyboard, or anything else plugged into USB stops doing an...

Don't think you need to do an actual wipe, just a reinstall. That's fixed a small problem or two before for me. We dont screw around with partial reinstalls, they tend to cause more problems than they fix. Format & recovery is the way to do it when you're dealing with other peoples machines.

We've formatted this guys computer like 3-4 times, lol I think he's just an idiot who keeps screwing it up. One of the front USB ports is kinda screwy, it lets you plug in devices upside down, which causes a power surge on the internal hub and shuts off all the ports on the circuit. I dont think any...

Windows doesnt autoinstall USB devices

Having a weird bit of trouble here. If you plug in a new USB device, you have to go into the device manager and force it to search for drivers, it doesnt do it automatically when the device is connected. After the first time its been installed, it detects properly from then on. Doesnt matter what th...

Easy. Crimping is -very- easy. Buy the right crimping tool (not some cheap RadioShack one) and the proper fittings and cable, and yer all set. Ive heard that its very difficult to do a proper crimping job (one that isnt going to result in a 3-6dB signal loss) yourself. Also, if the tools and connec...

I find it useful to be able to get on the net when Im on the road. I spend a lot of time in my car, and often find that I need to look up phone numbers/places of business/part numbers, whatever.

How hard would it be for me to do a decent job of crimping on a new connector myself?

After much-ado trying to find an adaptor, and talking to some radio nuts about adaptor signal loss, Im going to take the antenna to a local radio shop and have them crimp on an RP-SMA connector. Ive got an XP home box here that's been taken over and is busying itself sending out thousands of bulk emails (to no where, as I blocked it the instant I saw what it was doing)

Removed a ton of virii and other malware, but its still doing it.

Anyone know of anything other than an F&R?
