That's a pretty good summary of the state of things. Our use of the TF201 is a blend of Windows and Google Play users. It acts as a netbook for reading and writing emails (far nicer with a physical keyboard) but also as a tablet for playing mindless games and streaming video. I suspect a Surface 3 i...
So our trusty Transformer Prime (TF201) with keyboard is starting to feel its age, especially now that we try to stream regularly on it. The wifi module in it just doesn't cut it any more. Thus the shopping begins and I haven't really paid any attention to what's happening in the tablet market. Desi...
I've been seeing those ads as well, including on my work computer. I can assure you that I have not been browsing sites or conducting searches on topics related to Asian women or mail order brides on my work computer. Those particular ads only showed up in the last couple days and I've spent most of...
My suggestion for a nice 24" 16:10 monitor is the Samsung SyncMaster S24A850DW ( http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/monitors/led/LS24A850DW/ZA ). The USB3 ports on the back are pretty much useless as they are mounted at the middle of the monitor making them very hard to reach from the fr...
This might eliminate dual booting but only on OEM systems. For those of us who build our own computers, I don't see anything in that article that would prevent us from dual booting. Windows 8 is going to push manufacturers to make some sweet tablet hardware (Intel and ARM based). I want to run Ubun...

Yup, I've seen this before. I had the same problem with my GTS450. I fixed it by running an older version of the nVidia driver. I downloaded the last 3 or 4 drivers from nVidia and just installed/uninstalled until one worked. Now if only I could remember which one worked.
For home I've only used APC. At work we use Liebert PowerSure PSA (now just Liebert PSA) like this one: http://www.emersonnetworkpower.com/en-US/Products/ACPower/DesktopWorkstationUPS/Pages/LiebertPSALineInteractiveUPS5001500VA.aspx . They've proven quite reliable. Just remember to get something a l...
Hah ha! I made it on to the Tech Report Top 20 list on EOC's stat page! And I broke 700,000 points! Yay for me. Now what's up with the rest of the team? I'm only running a Core2 Duo and a GTS450 for folding. And that puts me in the Top 20?! And Fuzzhead, I've gotta ask, how on earth do you get upwar...
Well, look at that. Glad I stumbled on this post. I just checked my FF4 config and it's automatic management already allowed a 700MB cache. Manual override now set.
I like the look of both of them but I really dig the blue theme. I work in a dimly lit area so the white/blue theme seems really bright. The blue/blue is much better for a dim environment like mine.
In my brief cruising around I didn't notice any glitches. Good work!
Looks like a pretty good build. As for the power supply, you can probably get away with a less potent one. If you think you might drop a second card in at some point though, keep the power supply as is 'cause you'll need it.
1995 Acura Integra 2dr 1.8L inline 4 25mpg city and up to 40mpg on the highway provided I keep close to the speedlimit. So normally highway is around 35mpg.
I would agree the soundtrack was a little lacking. However, I must note that it's the first different music I've heard from Horner in many years. So different from his previous ones that I almost blamed Hans Zimmer for it (my apologies to Zimmer for the mistake). Have a listen to the Gladiator sound...
Ya, I thought about trying the second one out in the store ..... when I was almost home.
An yes, I did answer my question but I put the post up because it could be that the ones we've got a work are the odd ones not the one I purchased for myself.
I recently purchased an NEC FE991SB and I've found it to be really quite noisy on startup. In fact it was so noisy I took it back to the store and they declared it DOA and gave me another one. The second is even worse and sounds like the AG is going to snap from the degauss on power on. There are a ...
My first suggestion is the Samsung 900NF. However, it usually goes for $600 which is well over your price range. That said the next best thing is the 955DF which can usually be had for about $320 CAN. Unfortunately the 955DF only supports 1600x1200 at 68Hz.
