Re: i3-4160 Cooling

This is a good point, but my concern is that the cooler isn't fitting as tightly as it should. Nor is it staying secure as a bump from my fingers is popping it out. Now, I'm wondering if GeekSquad broke it some how. You sure one or more of the push down things that secure it in place just haven't b...

Re: AMD’s RYZEN Outshines Intel’s Best In 7 Different Benchmarks & Demos

There isn't anything new here because it's just a recap of the Ryzen live demo. There's Blender, Handbrake, that laughable Dota 2 demo...and nothing new to talk about, so I don't see how there can be new points. Except that table at the end claiming a 4C/8T Ryzen variant for $149. If that comes to ...

Re: What vid card would you choose to crown a 3GHz C2D, WinXP, legacy gaming box?

A good 4:3 panel? I used a Dell 2001FP at 1600*1200 back in XP times, infact, I still have it in my basement. I think it works, just the external powersupply is broken. But anyways, it was great for games of the era. 5:4 FTW, e.g. Dell Ultrasharp 1908FP for 1280x1024@75, otherwise I agree  Do...

ys advise me to do now? Buy another SSD or stick with HDDs? And in either case, which model would you recommend?

You should stick with HDDs, and then when you also experience one of them failing, you should continue using your awesome logic approach to life, and stop using PCs all together.

Re: i5-4590 vs my i7-4770K, must I upgrade for Oculus Rift?

I have an i7-4770K, which was great when I bought it, but which is starting to get old. How do you think the i7-4770K compares to the i5-4590 that Oculus recommends for the Rift headset? Should I upgrade my CPU, or can I get away with only upgrading my GPU? I'll help you out buddy. I have an i5-459...

Definitely a paper launch. Imagine the comments if AMD had done this.

If you can purchase PC's with the i3, its not a paper launch.

Re: The writing in Fallout 4 is garbage. *MAIN STORY SPOILER

That dog thing is nothing compared to what else Betsheda has pulled of. I tried to like their games, since everyone is always raving about them. So, I installed Oblivion. OK, I start on in a town, so I go into peoples houses and take their stuff, which they don't mind. Except, sometimes they'll rand...

Re: Haswell Overclocks

I have an i4670k which I run at 4ghz stock voltage, which in this case is 1.084v. At 4.1ghz it just flat out crashes at stock voltage. I'm using the Intel stock cooler, and don't really want to mess with the voltage, though I can have it run at 4.4ghz using AI3 autotune from Asus, which increases th...

Spoofing files to Crashplan/Backblaze

My storage drive is starting to make strange sounds, though SMART says all is good, but in general, I really need to get a backup. One solution is building a cheap NAS, but that doesn't protect me in case of a burglary, and I'd rather just keep adding harddrives to my always on PC, and use that as a...
