Re: Hello The Tech Report

Hi guys :) I literally saw that the site was pretty much dead and decided to check out the forums.. Was looking forward to seeing an article about the new M1 chip from Apple and get into an old fashioned discussion but low and behold, there was no such story to be seen anywhere.. This might be my la...

How's the weight compared to the iPad 2 ? How does it feel holding it ? Do you get tired quicker ?

Apparently, only applications that are signed/from the App Store can actually interact with the new integrated Notifications system.

My recommendation is to try an get your hands on an LS120 or LS240 drive. Those floptical drives are much better at reading data from old barely readable disks. You should be able to find them on ebay in USB versions.

All right, i think i know what the problem is : the new SMB v2 that is turned on by default in Windows 7. You have to enable the old version. Go to your Network and Sharing center and check your file sharing options. One of them will reference whether you want to enable 128bit strong encryption aka ...

Re: Vostrotosh 3400, anybody interested in the how to ?

On OS X desktop PCs, at least, alot of the time you can get around it with DSDT.aml patches that the boot loader will use, replacing the table in the BIOS. From what I've read, lots of Dells just don't deal well with those patches, though. The DSDT patches are necessary for all x86 hardware, not ju...

without sleep, I'd pass. So much power management stuff is very iffy on hackintoshes, which has always made the laptops unattractive to me. That's the biggest problem I have with Linux and laptops. Stupid companies and their weird ACPI. Makes sense that it would cause trouble of Hackintoshes, too. ...

There's too many missing things for the iPad in order for me to pull the trigger and get one. The lack of front camera for FaceTime is a deal breaker.

They'd probably be more interested at Insanely Mac, especially if you got external video outputs working. Well, i have posted quite a few questions on the InsanelyMac forums but the thread is super long and the proper information is scattered all over the place. I was just curious if any of the TR ...

Vostrotosh 3400, anybody interested in the how to ?

I recently hackintosh'd my new Dell Vostro 3400. It was a real pain as it is a new model and there was no previous track record on hackintoshing it and its level of success, but after weeks and weeks or installing and formatting, i finally managed to get it up and running :) I'm thinking of posting ...

Try bringing your HP back to Best Buy and asking them how to make a DVD. They would laugh at you and tell you to get out. However, while I was there, an elderly man came in with his MacBook Pro and said he wasn't sure how to create a DVD slideshow of photos from his family's recent trip to France. ...

Vuze is the best on all platforms. Period. Using the DHT tracker it automatically finds more peers then your regular client and as a result, your transfer will finish faster.

It is also the most customizable torrent client out there.

I would say pixel density and the dollar factor. At 2560*1440 it's already at 108.7 ppi at 2560x1600 it's almost 112 ppi. I would go blind using the 27 inch Imac. Sounds like your bootloader got hosed somehow. To fix it, you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode, NOT in Restore mode as iTunes does by default. Once in DFU, the iPhone will accept a new bootloader from iTunes with no problems and you will be able to restore your backup. How to put it in DFU mode, ...
