Re: CAPTCHA confirmation bias

For me, it tends to be "storefronts" where it insists you choose more even though there's none.

For street signs, you should never choose the small ones further up the road. In squares with sign edges, and <50% coverage, it works both ways so easier not to select.

CAPTCHA confirmation bias

One of the variants of reCaptcha wants you to choose at least N (=3?) images. Occasionally I get one that insists I choose an extra image even when nothing truly matches the target description. I do know which one it expects me to choose, but it's a misflagged image. I find it funny that it insists ...

Why aspire only to "all day"?

Re: Phone dilemma

The Pixel 2 is a capable phone with stock Android, and costs less Than the Galaxy S9 It's still a very expensive phone (S9 isn't a good benchmark). And there are the other cons mentioned earlier (missing SD, removable battery, headphone jack, along with some other things). It's at least not as huge...

There is more than one navigation software for Android. No need to stick with whatever comes preinstalled on a phone.

Re: Create your own nightmare cat creatures!

On my work laptop (2015 MacBook Pro), it takes a few minutes. On my personal laptop (older HP EliteBook with a Sandy Bridge CPU), it doesn't seem to work at all (crunches for a minute or two, then stops without displaying anything). On my home desktop (AMD FX-8350), it takes about 5 seconds . What ...

How long does it take to process on your PC?

A few minutes here, so quick iteration is impossible.

Not as annoying as using the web without being able to toggle it.

I'm surprised it's not implemented in Vivaldi. Hopefully V8 isn't an obstacle.

Anyway, browser compatibility was just one issue (BTW, non-direct image page no longer shows properly without JS). After uploading there's a menu there with an option to 'get share links' and gives you the bbcode, markdown or html embed codes. Your shots are the same as mine. What's not available is...

Imgur's deterioration accelerates. Alternatives?

Imgur continues its downward spiral. It's turned from a lightweight image host, with a few nice extra features, into an incompatible-with-older-browsers JS-ridden half-gimped image-oriented-social-slanted thing. Maybe the worsening started after its 2014's multi-million external investment? So, any...

Don't have these problems on an Elan touchpad in an Asus laptop. 1. I don't recall clicks that don't register, though I very rarely use physical clicking. Re: How to reset no boot W10

all versions of Windows after XP create a boot partition. The size ranges from 150-500 MB depending on the OS. It is not optional. In some cases, you may be able to shrink it a bit, but that's not a good idea either. Some features like Credential Guard, Bitlocker, etc require space on that partitio...
