The speakers are located in living room, kitchen, master bedroom, and master bathroom. I just want to play music throug...

Re: Upgrade or Replace/TS

Apologies for necroing my post but the issue was corroded sata cables. As far as I could tell the ports were not corroded but the cables were. My system is back up and running.

Upgrade or Replace/TS

Good afternoon y'all! For a few months now my current build, in my sig, has been dead. I'm not sure what the exact issue is as my machine is not able to see my boot drive when I moved it 3 feet. Looking at my months old tabs of what I was troubleshooting, it looked to be me trying to fix the boot re...

Re: Possible SATA port issue on Mobo

Troubleshooting: 1) unplugged the main drive, bios saw no drive 2) plugged in main drive slot 0, bios saw it, but no other drive 3) plugged in main drive slot 0, unplugged what I think is game drive, bios saw only main drive 4) plugged in main drive slot 0 - 5, unplugged game drive and blu-ray drive...

Re: Possible SATA port issue on Mobo

Need for an upgrade regardless aside, if the problem is one of the drives, upgrading may not fix the issue. I'd be surprised if plugging in the external was the cause. I’ll continue to trouble shoot, in the hopes I can find the right SATA ports to use. I also have an external usb sabrent IDE/SATA r...

Re: Possible SATA port issue on Mobo

Yeah, cracked PCB trace on mobo is a possibility, and can cause all manner of mayhem. But it's also possible that a single flaky drive is causing I/O hangs and resulting in general misbehavior. Does system misbehave even if game drive is disconnected? TBH if the game drive is a mechanical HDD I wou...

Possible SATA port issue on Mobo

Hi, recently I’ve been having trouble with my PC specifically reading either my game drive or main SSD. By reading I mean the pc boots up but says drive is inaccessible. I’m sure this happened during my recent move, and made worse when I fell down my steps carrying the PC. I have a nice divot in my ...

Re: Media player auto-starting a playlist

Yup, most results are software based. However I found something that could work: Alcorn McBride DVM-7400. It's meant for video playback but also has audio out and supports playlists and scheduling. The only thing is that it's no longer made so ebay is the only source and current equipment from that...

Re: Media player auto-starting a playlist

I doubt there is one, tho when I turn my car on, the car will automatically start spotify through the Bluetooth connection. However sometimes I have to start the app, other times it will start on its own. I tried searching "mp3 player playing playlist on startup" but it was all for softwar...

Re: Outdoor Wireless

I'd grab one of the Unifi Outdoor APs: https://www.ui.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-outdoor/ I second that recommendation. Long term you can also change the inside APs over to Ubiquiti UniFi APs. Your devices will roam seamlessly between them (the controller will "move" them to the AP closest to ...

Re: Outdoor Wireless

How is it being used? Used outdoors to send the guest networks to anyone that’s in the back. The specs for the ENH202 claim an operating temperature range of -4F to 140F. Where do your parents live? I could see that range being exceeded if winters are harsh and/or it is sitting in direct sun during...

Hey all, I want to replace my parents outdoor wireless device to something a bit more robust, as our 2nd device has apparently stopped working (my dad said it has, I’ve no way to verify personally). The device I’ve been using is EnGenius wireless Ethernet bridge/access point, model ENH202. I’ve boug...

Re: iPad Air stuck on Apple logo screen

So I had no luck trying to get the iPad working on my own. After chatting with Apple support the only thing new was that it was now showing that it wanted to be charged. Took to Apple care no dice there as their final solution was to do a restore. My sister will most likely send it to Drive Savers ...

I tried again with the original cable, and it worked for about a few minutes. The iPad was in the middle of updating when it disconnected the connection from the pc. It is currently stuck at 50%ish of loading (Apple logo with bar underneath it). Not sure what I should do next, as I don't want to mes...

Re: iPad Air stuck on Apple logo screen

I haven't tried the original cable yet, that's the plan for tonight. I have tried holding the power button and the home button for 20 seconds, but it oddly powers back on (I think). I'll test this again to verify. I'll check the port too.

iPad Air stuck on Apple logo screen

I have my sister's iPad Air (3 years old I think) that is currently stuck on the Apple logo screen. I did a search in this section of the forum for stuck apple logo and pulled up Forge's iPad incident. Currently the iPad is at my apartment charging (no charging indicator). Currently on the screen it...

Re: Playing CoD BO4 with SLI 780 Ti

So before I tried to test each card, I decided to try enabling v-sync. Before I did I was able to get precisionX VoC working without it crapping out, and I started up Bo4. I enabled v-sync, and I was able to play the game for 3 to 4 hours and no crashes occurred. I'll try to adjust some of the setti...

Re: Playing CoD BO4 with SLI 780 Ti

Sounds like a hardware failure. 780Ti is power-hungry. Could be that your PSU can no longer deliver enough to feed both cards at peak load, could be that one of your cards is dying. I would take one card out. That reduces the power load and removes SLI driver shenanigans from the situation. If it's...

Playing CoD BO4 with SLI 780 Ti

So, I've been attempting to play some CoD BO4. I recently upgraded my drivers thinking that was the issue and I also updated EVGA precisionx 16 to the latest version as a fix for any possible overheating. 1) New EVGA precision doesn't work. It will freeze up and I have to force close the program. 2)...

How long before benchmarks usually come out from various sites? 1-2 weeks or more? I fee like I'm close to needing to build a new system.

Re: Nvidia Pascal the holy trifecta?

1080 and 1070 aren't targeted at 4K gaming crowd. They are waiting for Big Pascal or Volta and their AMD counterparts. Why aren't these two cards targeted to 4k gaming? To me they seem to be good for 4k gaming, not the best, but good enough. Also, does anyone have a guess when they would release GP...

I'll piggy back off this topic, instead of making a new one. My current keyboard, the space bar has gone out for no reason, and the back-lit light is pretty much dead. I sorta want to update one of my 780 Ti's to a 980 Ti/780 Ti SLI, but not sure if the 980 Ti will mesh well with the 780 Ti, or if I'll see a gain in performance for the games I play (mostly Payday 2 [have stuttering issues at random times in the game {slightly fixed it with pocohud settings}] and E...

Wow, nice build he is wanting to build. I have one issue, why are you/he wanting to use this type of SSD: Samsung XP941 Series 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive? Unfortunately I game with only Mouse+Keyboard, XBox360 controller, or XB1 controller (I haven't used it on my pc yet). After thinking about it for a while, I figured the best way to enjoy that ga...
