Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

No, I live in New Hampshire. I can remove the solder I put on with the wick I got, and then expose the two little things sticking out, yeah. But I don't know anything about scraping something away...the only thing to scrap, is the PCB, which I don't believe is a good idea...and the two little stubs ...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

I talked about hot it works if I press it weirdlyy and plug it in, as well as the other picture I uploaded shos the bad solder job. It should work, worked for others. What they are talking about though, I just don't know.

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

I've got no professional to do this, and I don't know what you mean about exposing something. I guess those things broke off, though I found them and put them to the side One side still has most of it's. Seriously though, the cost of all this equipment, cable, and if I needed to find someone to do t...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

Thing is, the "joint" is the PCB and I freak out the second I see smoke when I press it down. I also do not have the greatest dexterity. I asked my father for help as well, as he's a welder(I know, very different, but he claims good dexterity). Just was having trouble. Salvagable? http://i...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

I'm not able to do this. The second the solder hits the soldering iron, it kinda jumps away... and the solder keeps sticking to the soldering iron, even though I tinned it. Also, the area around the joint has taken on a slightly darker tinge. I worry heat damage. However the joint sticks slightly wi...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

So guys...can I do this with a chisel tip? The same Soldering Iron I linked you, that you said would work, is a chisel tip....it arrived today...am I outta luck? No money to buy another tip or something. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00018AR40/ref=ox_ya_os_product Confusing picture and descripti...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

I don't understand how wire would help me practice at all. It literally makes no sense to me. Also, I heat the item up with the soldering iron, then place the solder onto it, and it melts onto it? Well my issue with this being is, I can't exactly put the tip of the soldering iron on two fins or what...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

Didn't come in today, guess I'll have to wait til Monday or Tuesday. Am I right in assuming that all I need to do is heat the Iron up, hold the little pocket solder thing over the location I want to solder, press the tip of the soldering iron against the solder, let it drop onto the holes with the t...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

http://youtu.be/2SwWSBHuNZY This video kinda shows exactly what I need to do. One of the solders remains on the keyboard, but it's not holding anything down. So I need to remove that. Then I need to re-apply some new Solder. So, basically, after I get the old solder off, I imagine I can just use the...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

Everything but the Solderign Iron is here, and the tracking number for that doesn't work. Dammit.

All the videos on YouTube suck too, they're showing hand movement, but are too zoomed out / covering what he's actually doing, so not really helpful.

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

The reason for MIR is because studies show over 85% of people do not bother with MIR's. Yet are 100% more likely to buy items with MIR because of a MIR.

Insanity, I know.

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

Ok, but is there any way to help make it so it doesn't bottom out? I've heard of these O-Ring dampeners, but I only need the 1, really, not these 120 piece sets. http://www.ebay.com/itm/120pcs-Keycap-Rubber-O-Ring-Switch-Dampeners-RED-For-CHERRY-MX-Free-Shipping-/261268631414?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&a...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

While everyone is having an active conversation, I rather like my Cherry Reds, which I have. Good gaming switches, I was told. There's not many issues with the keys themselves, except for the space bar, which bottoms out easily. Is there any way to fix that? It's really the only thing that bothers m...

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

Is the Solder with lead really needed? Because I can a kit that comes with wick and lead free solder for less, no kits I've found come with lead solder. Still trying to get the best bang for my back ,25$ and under on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Weller-SP40NKUS-Medium-Soldering-Black/dp/B00B3SG7F0/...

I think one pocket pack is enough, no? It's just two tiny dots of solder. I don't need Solder for anything else.

Dammit, and in the time I waited to get a response, the price rose 4$.

I'm going to Radioshack tomorrow / today to pick up what I need, maybe watch a few YouTube videos of people soldering stuff so I can get an idea. Also is there like a video guide showing how to solder? use the s older braid, ect? I don't want to mess this up.

Re: Rosewill RK-9000 caveat

Annoyingly, I now have this issue. I am trying to unscrew it, because my Warranty is out, and I found three screws, but can't get it off. Is there a final screw under the Serial # part? What do I have to do to fix it? I don't have a Solder tool. *Having taken the sticker off, it is a sealed plastic ...
