So of course I'm now toying with the idea of a virtual TR Minecraft BBQ for people who can't travel to the RL one... We could duplicate the cottage in Minecraft and everyone could hang out. Gleek, you'd better get started on that SMP Baggo mod... ;) lol so awesome... Not sure if ANY plugin dev have...

So close to getting an SSD, then read through the comments. Darn OCZ and their unreliable firmware and darn Intel for costing more than I'm willing to pay. If it makes you feel better, I haven't pulled the trigger on an SSD yet either. I'm still waiting for all the early adopter issues to get worke...

Re: Minecraft

My server is still running 1.8PRv2 but I will update it tonight. We've been playing with 1.8 since it was "leaked" on Friday (patch with the user-made fix for the XP orb bug). Its buggy and incomplete but super fun. I especially love the retooled world generator (oceans!!!). Now if we cou...

Re: Minecraft

1.8 is out. Most of the bugs were squishied during the pre-release phase. Sadly some texture packs (my fav included) still show spiders and endermen as white. I've read it's a transparency issue in the texture and not an actual bug. The new features and terrain generation is quite epic. EDIT: Just ...

Yes, so happy they hollowed out one of them and are living inside. I never knew any sort of North American ant would actually do that. That's...kind of disturbing, actually. Then again, I re-watched IJ4 over the weekend. If they find an opening, they'll exploit it. I think one of the bottoms didn't...

Yes, so happy they hollowed out one of them and are living inside. To the compost bin it went, so the cycle will start anew next spring.

The last time I saw that pattern of white that I viewed on the leaves in the last picture, it was on a Yellow crookneck squash plant. I don't know how you'd get volunteers unless you'd planted them there before, but I'll cast a vote for your mystery plant being a Yellow crookneck squash. I have yel...

Here's one with the roots, and a bit of the seed still attached. It's almost transparent now, so I can't tell if it's a squash seed, or like a cantaloupe or a honeydew melon seed. Only the green head was sticking out, the white base was all underground, with just a smattering of small roots around ...

Re: Mystery plant growing in the garden. Help me identify.

First, good job on the garden. It will be fun. Whatever they are, and all those guesses take a bunch of room, you should consider seperating them before they get much bigger. Last year, our zucchini (3 plants) were too close, got 3' around, really interfered with the other plants, and made more zuc...

Mystery plant growing in the garden. Help me identify.

I cleared a section of ground for a small garden, then dumped my compost tub in the center, spreading it around with a rake. About a year's worth of fruit and veggie scraps were breaking down in the tub, so who knows what seeds were in it. Could be anything :) About 2 weeks later, these are popping ...

It surely couldn't hurt, as long as you get enough proteins and aminos from other sources like quinoa and beans.
