Re: DeflateGate

As a Colts fan, I'm terrified of Brady coming off suspension and us being the first team he plays. I'd love to stomp him into the ground, but when that guy has something to prove, he's almost unstoppable.

Re: Replacing my Unicomp Keyboard

I never have pulled the trigger on this, but my Unicomp is actually starting to die. It flickers on and off throughout the day. Has anybody had any luck finding a wireless mechanical keyboard?

Re: DeflateGate

As a Colts fan, I would love nothing more than to see the Patriots get a huge punishment. Yes, I'm biased, but I'm smart enough to know that the Patriots would've killed us in that game, deflated ball or not. However, they cheated, again. Knowingly, purposefully, and then those involved tried to cov...

Re: Swapping SSDs

I think a lot depends on how different the old computer is from the new one. If you're talking different CPU brand, I'd format. A different chipset, I might if there wasn't much age difference, but I still wouldn't like it. I can be done, but I think it's messy and who wants a mess on their new mach...

Replacing my Unicomp Keyboard

I have a Unicomp keyboard at work, and as much as I love typing on it, it drives people crazy around me and I need to find something quieter, but I'd still like the same feel that the Unicomp provides. Does anybody have any suggestions on something close to a Unicomp but not so noisy? Also, volume c...

I glitched really hard last week, had my new diamond gear on and when I came out of the glitch I was in the middle of lava and died. Pretty much have rage quit after that. I'll be back eventually, just too mad right now.

Fitbits!

I was curious if anybody out there is using a Fitbit. They look like a fun way to stay a little more active and you can compare your stats with others. I'm looking at getting one and was curious if anybody would like to join me or offer any experiences with them.

Re: Looking for a game the computer can play

Just a suggestion, you might want to use a title like "Looking for AI vs. AI game" or "Looking for all AI-capable game." It just might make it more recognizable, and might get the views you want :) Thanks, the words weren't coming to me last night. :) I might have settled on the...

Looking for AI vs. AI game

I couldn't think of a great title for this, but I'm looking for a game that I can setup for the computer to play against itself. What I'm trying to do is come up with a creative way for my fantasy football league to decide who gets each pick in the draft. Here are my requirements: *At least 12 AI pl...

Re: Computer to run 4k TV

Just 2D maps, nothing that requires any 3D horsepower, although I'm guessing I'm going to have to spend some cash for a GPU that can handle 4k resolutions.

Computer to run 4k TV

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but this seems like a good general area. I've been tasked with coming up with a 4k TV and a computer to power the display. The engineering department wants a high resolution device that will display AutoCAD maps and such. I've seen a few TV's around $1000-1500 ...

Re: Recommendation needed

It isn't sexy, but a Dell Latidue E6530 or a Lenovo ThinkPad T530. You can put a hard drive in either's CD-ROM bay, you can find them on their respective outlets for dirt cheap, and the warranties on the Dell are standard three year. They're also built like a tank so they'll take the day to day abuse.

I haven't seen this behavior, but try opening up "Resource Monitor" when it's happening. It might give you a little more information.

Re: Is there a way to secure free internet?

A software firewall on your computers would be a necessity. I would imagine if his wireless router supports it, he could monitor what you're browsing. You would have to use some sort of proxy on the Internet I think to keep that information from being displayed.

The format has definetly fixed it. I've rebooted a dozen times and everything is working great. Just got done installing all the hardware drivers and I'm on to putting 120 Windows udpates on right now. So far so good!

Re: Weirdest Windows XP Boot Problem I've Seen

Booting on the Windows 7 setup disk and running bootrec /mbr made it worse. I finally was able to boot off a Windows XP Pro disk and get into the recovery console. I ran fixmbr and fixboot, rebooted and got the same thing. This is a 945 based chipset and a crappy Pentium dual-core. I've already back...

Re: Weirdest Windows XP Boot Problem I've Seen

Ok, that's what I wasn't sure of. I knew you could do that through the recovery console of an XP disk, but I didn't know if I could use a Windows 7 disk. I just checked the MBR for viruses using AVG's rescue disk and that came back with nothing. I'll give the Windows 7 MBR fix a shot.
