It was amazing how surreal it felt during the eclipse. It really did feel like a weird haze going on all around you.

Can't seem to find glasses anywhere now. I was really hoping to get a piair to watch this historic event. I did see one in elementary school many years ago, but that was like in the 80s

I just checked it again and it loaded up like it should this time. I'm not sure what the problem could have been on my end. It started to worry me though.

Re: Windows Explorer taking a long time to launch

I noticed windows taking a long time to load today. I thought something was wrong with my drive and now I see this thread. That is odd. It stayed pause between the boot screen to the splash screen for a long time.

I used to eat spam when I was a child. Put it in a biscuit and eat it with a side of black eyed peas and it is pretty good.

Radio Shack in the 80s was a place to check out though. Electronics everywhere, and thanks to them science kits almost every Christmas. lol So long Radio Shack, you will be missed. Circuit City too. Oh man it's a walk man! and so on

I did the windows reset also once. Only once. It froze everything afterwards, so never again after that. Also after reading your post it sounds like something beyond windows is causing your troubles.

I ran prime95 overnight while I slept, I will run it again under torture test tonight and see. It has passed everything so far though.

ok, so I moved it up to 1600. I did not change the timing on the ram. I am not exactly sure what to put for the timing to be honest or which way to move it if it doesn't work correctly at the moment. Would maybe like some help?

trying to get a little more out of ram

I was thinking of maybe trying to get a little more out of my ram sticks. I was looking at the ram prices thread and it got me wanting to try to get a little boost out of my ram. I am on Kingston 1333 ddr3 ram 16 gigs, asus P8Q77-M with i53450s chip. I was hoping maybe I could get a little more zip ...

I just recently had a mishap with an oven and have been thinking how newer models just are nowhere near as good as older model anything really. An older 70s style oven that used to be here might look a little tacky but would still be doing it's job like a champ. I am hoping it is only the heating el...

Re: Ditching the land line

um. I listen to Leo Leport the tech guy and he says you should always try to keep the copper line because businesses want to pressure you into getting rid of it so they can keep you on their service basically. So basically it would be good to keep it for options or emergencies. Just in case.
