Re: Who is left

poking my head in to say hello. Wouldn't say I'm "left". This is my first drive by in 3 years. Buying a house, getting married, and a new job, dont lend much free time these days for enthusiast pc building. Then again, taking a look around, all I see are articles on crypto and gambling so ...

Started a (Semi)casual dungeon oriented guild in Classic ~ Wow, Mankrik Server Horde side. If anyone is looking to check it out hit me up with a PM and ill send you a guild invite. I say semi casual as we are all fairly hardcore gamers with extensive warcraft experience, though limited ambition to g...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Sound quality at tinley park last night was as good as ive heard for an outdoor venue. The three guitars could sometimes be difficult to distinguish, but otherwise no complaints. Iron Maiden put on one hell of a show and brought their A game and a much nicer stage setup than when they came with DT. ...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Heh, small world! It wasnt just you, we couldnt hear dream theater at all and only heard IM clearly about halfway through the show. That must be the point at which they cranked it up. Fixed IM for you folks who were up in the back, but made it too loud for those of us who were in front of a set of ...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

If you happen to be in the direct line of fire from one of the hanging clusters of speakers, I hope you have earplugs. Otherwise you will not be able to hear properly for 2 days. This is from personal experience, when I saw IM (with Dream Theater opening for them) at the same venue several years ag...

Taking my fiance to her very first Iron Maiden concert tonight in Tinley Park. Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Just discovered Poets of the Fall. Great musicians, great vocals, and incredible prose turned lyrics. Instantly fell in love to the point we turned around and added their song All the way/4U to our wedding dance list as the last dance of the evening. Also, if no one was yet aware, new Opeth was put ...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Never personally been a fan of straight Death Metal. But after a decade of listening to its sub-genres I suppose it was inevitably going to rub off on me. Anyways, came across this three piece I have really been enjoying. I love how intricate and how much energy they have. The sound stage is huge fo...

You need to wait for the chorus. Don't skip forward to it, just wait for it.

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Just went and saw Dream Theater Sunday Night. They played their newest material in the first set along with some classics followed up with metropolis pt2 album in its entirety in the second set. What a ride. 10/10. Full disclosure, I might actually enjoy their newer material better than metropolis. ...

Diverging from my normal metal playlist to take a trip back a few decades to my high school years. Hoobastank, my favorite of the era: The Exies, and the seriously underrated and completely unknown: Headstrong.

Re: What are you drinking RIGHT NOW?

I figured that was part of it. I have a grinder and took it back a couple notches for a bigger grind than usual, but it still wasn't right. Maybe I needed to go even bigger, or maybe I was using too much, etc. Just couldn't get it down, and mostly just put it away and forgot about it. Maybe I'll gi...

Re: What are you drinking RIGHT NOW?

I got myself a french press a couple years ago, but for whatever reason I just can't get the procedure down (generally ends up overly bitter). I'm sure there's plenty of youtube videos, but I got frustrated and went back to the regular coffee machine. Never got around to giving it another shot. Mig...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Continuing my trip backwards through Soilwork's discography. Today I am listening to The Living Infinite. At 20 tracks long, this will be a mountain of material to digest; but if its anywhere as good as Ride The Majestic, I should enjoy every minute. On a different note, I just wanted to offer a fri...

Jamaican Blue Mountain roast mixed with a touch of Ethiopian beans. Its a blend I mixed up for the french press. Bold, yet sweet, savory, and velvety smooth.

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Working my way backward through Soilwork's discography. Greatly enjoy their new album so I figured I would check out their earlier work as well. Currently on The Ride Majestic album. A bit heavier and takes a bit more time to acquire, but a lot of excellent tracks.

For those of you in the midst of - and braving - the Polar Vortex, how about throwing a bone to someone in the tropics with a few pictures of your backyard/lawn? The newest album from Swallow The Sun released on Friday and it is an early frontrunner for metal album of the year. This album (for context) is the first release of the band since the death of the lead guitar/song writer's wife. This is an MDM/Doom album written about his struggle with her death an...

All this negative weather talk made me run out last night with the tarp to go cover my Michigan blueberry bush; couldn't even find it, rabbits chewed it down to the stump. Stormed back to my shed to throw the tarp back inside and noticed a large mass inside my rabbit trap. The terriers got themselve...

Re: Winter weather

No accidents for me yet, (thank god), but the Lord knows I was dumb and reckless enough to have run off the highway plenty of times in my youth. I attribute most of that to driving a properly weighted down Silverado with mudding tires on it. Now days I don't have quiet the winter proof vehicle but I...

Re: What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

Back on an Oceans of Slumber kick. I read a lot of people comment that this band is a female led version of Opeth but I find that a bit shallow of a comparison. That is to take nothing away from OoS, I just think they build a lot of sound stage mostly through dynamics where Opeth uses a lot of varyi...

Can you borrow a gamecam? Thought about it. My family only has one that I know of and I believe my dad leaves it by his tree stand. I would also worry that the camera would take too many images if they are running around playing all day. Just get a single-camera and set it up in the most likely spo...

Recently there has been a string of chewing and destruction going on at my home when the Fiance and I are gone at work. It started out as minor pieces of trash from the roommates unlocked room or garbage, but recently ramped up to $200 worth of damage to Christmas presents. The problem I am facing i...
