Re: Alarm Clocks for Windows 8

Run VLC or your favorite media player as Scheduled Task. Pass the playlist file as a parameter. Tick the "Wake the computer to run this task" checkbox. (under the "Conditions" tab) Wow, it is possible! Great suggestion. But it feels like such overkill. To the OP, I would google ...

Re: A few months with a Surface 2 - Review

Nice write-up. I want the tablet ecosystem to work so that I have this machine as an option. For me, tablets are under powered for what I really want to do with them (12 tabs open, email, and remote VNC's a machine). However, I've not bought the new Surface 2 so maybe it would work for me.

Re: I wish for a simple computing experience

Should I retreat to DOS? Buy a 8 bit micro? Does anyone else get this feeling too? Funny you bring this up. The number of JavaScript libraries out right now is astounding, crazy really. I want to see a new operating system built from the ground up in super simple C++ syntax with a crazy simple buil...

Re: is 120 gb ssd sufficiant for a dual boot setup

120GB is big. I use a 128GB boot and app drive and another 256GB drive for data, both SSD. It is crazy fast.

Re: mSATA or SSD?

For now, use mSata if you have to. Standard SSD are really small for even mini-ITX builds.
