Re: Wildstar MMO

My wife and I are playing Wildstar as well and we're both enjoying it, although with our baby we're not able to play MMOs nearly as much as we use too. I've played WoW since it's been out (and every expansion) with a few breaks to play Rift, SWTOR, Secret World and Guild Wars 2. I have a couple of G...

Re: Any telecommuters out there?

I've been working from home for the past 5 years. I do support for a VoIP company and we provide support 7 days a week 8am till 12pm 365 days a year. Some of the things I would suggest would be following your 'normal' routine. Get up at the same time, shower, dress and the rest of your morning ritua...

Re: SW: TOR

Great to see people from The Tech Report playing SWTOR. I'm on a server called 'Daragon Trail' playing with the wife and a guild called Redemption. We're Republic. I've got a 28 Jedi Knight (Guardian), 28 Smuggler (Gunslinger), 21 Jedi Consular (Seer/Sage) and a 21 Trooper (Combat Medic), I'm enjoyi...

Re: Need some cell phone advice

The downside of the Focus is that it has all of the Galaxy S drawbacks (flimsy build, reliability issues, not sure if they've fixed the GPS issues) without the key selling point of the Galaxy S (the 1 GHz Hummingbird CPU and PowerVR 540 GPU). I'd wait for microsoft to relax the hardware requirement...

Re: Need some cell phone advice

My wife just got a WP7 phone in the form of the Samsung Focus. It's got a really nice display, is very light weight and runs very smooth. Getting her contacts on the phone was nice and easy. Downloading apps is a breeze and is 'fun'. I like the OS more then I like the iOS. She's upgrading from the i...

I heard th HTC Passion may be coming to AT&T in February maybe March. It has roughly the same spec's as Googles Nexus One. However it has HTC Sense UI which a lot of people enjoy. Just remember that with SenseUI, MotoBlur and any other manufacturer-specific layer on top of the Android platform,...

Offtopic. We were asked to no longer call clients/customers users because it's a derogatory and impersonal term. If they were clients or customers, I'd call them such. They are employees whos access I manage, most of whom I've never met. From my AD/BES administration consoles, they are all fa...

One of my favorites is Hero of Sparta, it was on sale for $0.99 but I think it went back up. I go to the following site for reviews on games and they usually announce when a game has gone on sale (http://toucharcade.com/).

As balzi mentioned smaller companies are often more willing to higher people with less experience. Also think about markets that aren't maybe directly related to computers such as VoIP. Where you'll be dealing with SIP, TCI/IP, NAT, configuring software, hardware, learning proper troubleshooting pro...

Been running SP2 on my Laptop and haven't experienced any issues with it. The install was smooth and fast, everything is working as it was before. have to say i'm enjoying WotLK a lot. I'm happy they made a lot of the raid encounters 'easy' as I'm in a very casual guild and we cannot even get Anub' Rekhan down or clear trash on the way to Noth the Plaguebringer. With Anub'Rekhan we don't have the positioning down and healers are getting hit by...

Re: World Of Warcraft

Do you all really find it that surprising that they are resetting the honor points? They've already stated they don't want people using their flying mounts till later so you don't skip content. Same would hold true with PVP gear, people would just get PVP gear as soon as they hit 80 and skip all the...

Wow that seems pretty big. I was looking forward to at least trying this game, now after AoC I doubt I will. For all the faults of WoW at least the damn game works. I don't see it as a big deal, considering most people get their OS, or upgrade their OS when they buy a new PC and I don't think they have a problem choosing their OS. I use Vista HP at home and Business at work both work great.
