Re: The iPhone got forked!

Thanks for posting that! this one is huge as I did not have it enabled: Safari now optionally uses Face ID before filling in passwords on Web sites. Previously, even with Touch ID, they filled automatically if the iPhone was unlocked. That’s enabled by default in Settings > Face ID & Passcode. M...

Re: The iPhone got forked!

Also FaceID gets better over time as it learns your facial nuances. Its why you can use it in low light situations and with unique situations like wearing a hat, glasses, beard. You're more likely to have false positives early on after setting it up then you are after using it for a few days/weeks/m...

Re: The iPhone got forked!

edit: Also, anecdotal but still, I have always had really great experiences with Apple support. I don't make it into the stores often as I don't have one close to me, but they have always done the right thing IMO with the times I have contacted them. I have heard the same from a lot of others as we...

Re: The iPhone got forked!

But I can walk into a Verizon store and walk out with a replacement. Why would I cross-ship with Apple? Because, from past experience, there are some things that VZW and ATT do not warranty even with AppleCare and AppleCare+. And besides I'd much rather do business with Apple even if it is dealing ...

Re: The iPhone got forked!

To those that do not have an Apple Store or a Apple Authorized Service Provider within a reasonable distance, I think Apple defines this as 25 Miles but am not sure, With AppleCare and AppleCare+ THEY DO CROSS SHIP : straight from their FAQ: Express Replacement Service for Apple Watch, iPad, and iPh...

Re: The iPhone got forked!

Considering I was on a 6+ I think I got my monies worth out of it. Heck, I even sold it for 250 bucks that I put toward my X. Well, yes. I'll probably keep my X just as long if not longer.

Re: The iPhone got forked!

Yes and yes. I was skeptical about FaceID but dang if it just isnt cool. And I thought Fingerprint tech was cool. Since yesterdays back and forth about how the fingerprintID works, needs to be refreshed within 24hrs or a passcode is needed, I wonder if FaceID works the same way or if the time has go...

I read that yesterday. Quite interesting and makes me look at my X a little differently. It's like the original iPhone all over again. It will be he new baseline to which everything else is iterated upon.

Re: College Football 2017

BAh I hate ND! Make them join a conference already! If you want in the playoffs join a freaking conference.

That being said, I know they said they want to run at least 7 years before any modifications are made to the format but I really think they need to expand it to 8.

Re: Destiny 2 Beta

Traded the 300K gold for WoW tokens which are worth 15 bucks to bnet balance; ~55 bucks. Right now the going rate for a WoW token is 157,307G. At the time I did it a WoW token was really cheap like 50k G.

You can also use your bnet balance to buy Overwatch boxes. I've done that in the past too.

I got it installed but haven't had the time to actually play it. (I never played the first one. #PCMASTERRACE) Besides I had to sell some of my millions of WoW gold on something! (That's right in-game World of Warcraft gold was used to buy a game and it was cheap too, only around 300K G!)

Re: Can a 144Hz display help reduce eye strain?

A couple of things that can help alleviate eye strain while at the computer: - Indirect light location. Some of us work in cube farms and have harsh florescent overhead lighting which is the worse set up. But at home having a softer light behind and off to the side of the monitor/s does wonders. And...

Re: Ready Player One Trailer is out

If the movie doesn't pony up to do the same thing (like, say, The Lego Movie does with it's characters/licensing) then I just don't think the story is strong enough to stand alone. I'm glad you brought this up. Personally, I feel the story was strong enough even if you strip out all the late 70s, 8...

I watched the Trailer and was disappointed. I know there are a lot of people that didn't like the book and I understand. Much of the love of the book shines through the nostalgia aspect of it. Everything from old school D&D to Joust and on and on. Those of us that grew up in the 70s and 80s are ...

Ever see the commission structure of selling a timeshare? It can go from the okay base 6% to the Obnoxious to 46% after accelerators are added to your commission structures. An oh BTW they are almost certainly pyramid schemes, think Mary-Kay, Avon, or the like.

Re: Do you use the Windows "Documents" folder?

Ned, you should spend the 2 easy minutes that it takes to relocate the libraries that you want. You can choose which libraries go on which drive and in which directory and Windows will move the files for you. it doesn't always behave and some programs will ignore the different locations. For the ob...
