Re: Fiber optic vs cable

FWIW FIOS and Uverse are not equal.

FiOS is hybrid bastard system that isnt 100% fiber.

Uverse on the other hand is 100% fiber from the street to the house and if wired correctly through out it.

Re: In the market for a drone

Not saying I agree with the idea of limiting a high dollar product like that. There's a reason I tend to recommend building your own if you have the patience and time, but I can understand their reasoning. There are ways around it, to which I have done. And I stayed well under 400 ft. and was in co...

Re: In the market for a drone

Tanker did you check air maps and make sure. When you say border do you mean the border of the facility or the airspace which would be much larger Also I mean the real vfr charts, not drone fly maps. Yes to the VFR charts, and airspace, it extends beyond the boarders of the military base in the VFR...

I also have a DJI and while its wonderful you need to be aware of the software that's on it. DJI enforces its no-fly zones on you through the GPS software/ Geo map. Of course this is a good thing AND bad because the zones are not precise as they should be but show up as blobs whens mapped out. I liv...

Re: New washing machine

I just bought a new washer and Dryer for the new house. (Last set was 15+ year old Whirlpool that was still running strong.) I got a Maytag commercial set. The washer is MVWC565FW. Its a top load with agitator. It's very quiet and I love it. It also has a deep water wash cycle which is a one off sin...

Re: I miss my TiVo!

Yeah it's in the admission and you'd have to know what is the difference in IPTV and QAM: If you use a CableCard, certain Interactive Media Guide, Widget, and VOD services will not be accessible. And I actually had to on version for this: Currently Fios TV is a hybrid of IP and QAM video delivery he...

Re: I miss my TiVo!

Can you get a CableCard for uVerse and use that in your Tivo? Nope, it really is true fiber from the street to the house and in it (if you dont have fiber in the house then its over CAT) and is true IPTV. I've been researching and it seems some people have gotten a Series 2 connected to the ATT uVe...

I miss my TiVo!

I've had been a TiVo user up until a few weeks ago when I closed on my house which had fiber and Cat 6e ran through it. The new neighborhood was laid with fiber from ATT so I went with uVerse. MY EYES! oh gawd the uVerse UI is atrocious! it's a jumbled mess that I haven't quite figured out. Things I...

Although to be pedantic, they aren't changing one of their parks, they are adding a new section to an existing park. Partly true and we're both right. Hollywood Studios park used be called MGM Hollywood studios park. They tore down a few things and expanded to make way for the SW stuff which...

Disney maybe isn't making much money on the Star Wars franchise ..... Dude, put down what ever it is you are smoking. They are changing one of their parks to be nothing but Star Wars. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!? I've never read more of an asinine comment ever. Unsurprisingly, you can look back at...

Re: STAR WARS TIME! - Spoiler Lock Lifted

My concern is that they greenlit 3 more movies from Rian even with the fan backlash. I hope that doesn't actual come to fruition. So I was concerned, but not so much anymore. While he did a crappy job with TLA, his greenlight is on a new trilogy. Johnson’s trilogy—being produced with Ram Bergman —w...

I'll say congrats to Disney for managing to kill the unkillable cow? ehhhh, I don't think so. There's much more to the SW universe than the Episodic movies. Clone Wars and Rebels did a bang up job with a writer that had phenomenal writing. Rogue One was really, really good too. I am hoping Solo wil...

So to answer the burning questions, I had them run during construction when the walls were all open. Obviously, Its way cheaper to run the CAT6 during construction. Rebels ended last night and it was everything I wanted and more. Oh how I want so much more. It was a masterpiece! The SW Universe should be Dave Filoni all the time. He gets it! yes it works

I can tell it works because sometimes it recognizes that there is a drive, and sometimes it lets me open it, but when I try to dig around and see whats there it kinda shutsdown and then the drive is non-responsive.
