Maybe not a 20th level wizard. More likely a 5-7 th level wiz/ill, spells randomly chosen to reflect captured spell books from dead adventurers.

I'm a 1st ed AD&D DM and play Mage (a Marauder). Also play Battletech and StarFleet Battles. Used to play Warhammer 40k until the latest rules changes made the game suck. Last three aren't really RPGs but the miniatures make the games more enjoyable.
