I see there are some folks with Macs. Have you heard or know if they will be releasing the Mac versions of Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 at the same time as the PC versions??? Waiting for the Mac versions suck, that's the main reason I built a PC is for gaming. It sometimes takes 6 months or longer for gam...

Here's a bit from a review on Gamespy for Doom III: the PCs running DOOM 3 multiplayer were 2 GHz machines with GeForce FX cards, and seemed to run smoothly enough considering the amazing level of detail in the game. There were moments of chop during firefights, but overall, the technical aspects of...

Ok this is my last post on this topic. It is very interesting to get "that" side of a game review. I love how in Return to Castle Wolfenstien they actually counted the cuss words! Only two, "Damn" and "Good Lord". But, the best is this: "If someone were to ask which weapon looked the coolest, I woul...

ssand, maybe they do not want to go thru the hassle of buying/renting the game to try it out, every time their kid wants a game. I agree there should be (probably is) a site that reviews games, that parents can turn. But, spouting "we attempt to judge games the way God would" and then deciding on a...

It's interesting how "for the good of Christians" they are buying and playing these games for us. It's ok for them to play the games, rather than have Faith that people can make their own decisions. If you don't like a game or... can't figure out by the graphics or rating on the BOX... guess what, d...

You could get a fanless mini-itx board or a flex-atx board... both are smaller than a micro-atx board. So you can get a smaller box. I think most or all the mini-itx boards have built-in lan. I don't think you need the ATI 9600 for home theater use - you could get a less expensive card with similar ...

that's not ripping off... that's relabeling. it's like private labels in dept stores... half the time it's the same company competing against themselves - they make money both ways.

Goofy mounted hard drive...

I'm working on building a custom mini pc. While I could use a notebook hard drive(too pricey for large capacity)... I would rather like to use a standard 3.5 HD. Only problem is with the 3.5" HD I would have to mount it vertically - to save space. So, it would be standing up long ways (the end with ...

Pick up some cheap ram from Best Buy or Comp USA. Sure it's sometime a bit if'y, but for $40 for PC2700 512MB... while it doesn't matter to me, It's always AFTER REBATE. But a budget is a budget. :o Always hunt for the Free FEDEx saver items on NewEgg - takes awhile and I am sure they hate me for it...

Nice case. As long as that front 120mm fan is actually mounted behind those front slots. The last two case I got with 120mm fans in the front, both were partially block - which really ruined the concept of air flow. So, I have yet to experience true 120 front and back. I recently got an Antec Sonata...

How much processor speed is actually required for PVR? (I would also like to know). I can't imagine some of the stand-alone PVRs have a huge processor in them. Or is it more RAM dependent?? How about a couple of 40mm fans - It would have to be a custom mod. Only thing I would worried about is adding the noise factor to it. http://phamcomputer.safeshopper.com/73/654.htm?26 Actually 40mm fan would be way too big. How about a couple 25mm?? http://www.eagletechcomputers.com/20lapcoolfan.ht...

AMS has a case similar to the X-dreamer only $39 at newegg (no side window and no front LCD thingy). I got one and drilled a side blowhole as the front 120mm fan is partially blocked. Stays a cool 31C case temp. It's a very clean looking case. :D http://www.american-media.com/Products/PC_Servers/CF-...
