I think I've narrowed it down to a memory issue. Apparently when svchost.exe (localsystemnetworkrestricted) uses up 300MB of ram, the sound gets wonky. This also happens when the memory usage is over >50%.
I have this weird buzzing sound that happens during audio playback. It only happens if my computer has been on for over a day or if it comes out of sleep.
I have a Gigabyte GAP55A-UD3 Mobo with a Core i7 running Windows 7.
Also, would it be worth it to forgo the 2nd HDD and pick up a SDD instead for my boot drive? I currently have a 2.5TB server, so space isn't an issue. I'd probably pick up:
Intel X25-V SSDSA2MP040G2R5 2.5" 40GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
So if I switch to: 1 x Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model 996657 Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80605I7860 Will the HT and bump in ram speed make up for the 4GB less of r...
Hey guys, I'll be using this computer mainly for general office work, web browsing, Photoshop editing 10+MP pictures, Indesign, and video editing when needed. I don't really game, but I would like to be able to when the bug hits. I'm currently using 2 19in monitors with 1280x1024 max res. which I ho...
As much as I would love to build my own computer, I'm just way too busy with everything else in my life right now. What do you guys think about this computer? My main needs are general office work, Photoshop, and InDesign. There might be some slight gaming involved too. http://www.buy.com/prod/Essen...
I hope not as I'm the only one who uses the computer. I've done several malware scans to no avail. Are there any programs that would interfere with Window's screen saver?
I'm having issues with my screensaver coming on. Most of the time, it won't come on. Say I change it to 2 mins, it works for maybe 2-3 days before it is changed back to 1 min and no screen saver becoming active. Do you guys have any idea what's going on?
Ah, my mistake. I found some link that had that brought me to the HP buying screen with that price. No idea on the specs though. I actually have no idea where that came from.
The thing I don't like about it though is that the weight is over 4lbs.
LAPTOP Battery Test This test, developed in the LAPTOP labs, replicates continuous Web surfing over Wi-Fi until the battery is completely drained. Starting with a full battery, a notebook runs a script that visits 60 popular Web sites in a loop, pausing 33 seconds on each, then closing and reopening...
Sony VGN-S360 I dropped it yesterday and the power port no longer holds the power supple plug. Plus the headphone jack doesn't work anymore. I wouldn't mind sending it out if I could get everything done for under $100. Most of the local shops charge are $50 fee just to "diagnose". I wanted...
I've built plenty of systems for people in the past and most are still in use (some 10 years+). The one thing that people notice over time is hard disk speed. The disk is what most users end up waiting on. One friends business PCs are AMD 2500+, 1GB on NF2 boards. They were built to run with a FSB ...
