I think we need a new forum feature called something like "History Report" or something that lets you know when you're in the red and need to tread lightly All joking aside, JNW, certain topics are against the forum rules to discuss, and there's a good reason for it. If you want to block adds that'...

No. Read my last post. If that is the way it works, then he DOES get money from blocked ads!!! It still loads them, it just doesn't DISPLAY them!! LOADING them is what gets you the money when it is "per impression."

to get revenue you have to actually CLICK the ads, dont you?!?!? I never click the ads anyway so what difference does it make? You are mistaken. While the specifics can vary, banner ads generally pay per "impression", i.e. the number of times the ad is displayed. The number of times the ad is displ...

If I may mediate for a second, I think the problem between JNW and Damage is that, JNW, by talking about adblocking as you do, you are essentially doing the same as walking into a store and saying, "It's inconvinient to pay for stuff. Price tags are hard to pull off of clothes, and I don't like how...

Oh and I missed this little tidbit:

"You have a long history here, and it's not a good one." wth?? Maybe I should ban myself, then. Or at the very least stop folding.

That would be unfortunate for me....I happen to like being here. But, Scott can do whatever he wants to...he owns the site....I just don't agree with the reasoning behind the argument, that's all.

I used to use AdBlock and FlashBlock all the time, even on this site because the lame flash ads eat up all the cpu, however a recent bug makes firefox crash constantly when you use them. If they ever fix it I recommend both these programs...they solved many of my ad based woes.

Their servers are top notch. Every other product they sell is cheap crap. With the exception of Gateway or eMachines, I'd say 99% of house calls I make to fix friends/family's broken PC's are Dell's. (For non-software related issues like dead fans, bad caps, blown motherboards, etc). Their laptops a...

Your folding application should not be affected by changing the memory timing as long as your PC remains stable. I don't think that you will notice any significant improvement in your PPD as a result. Folding uses a chunk of memory but does not shuffle stuff in and out very often. Oh no, I know.......

Folding stuff, and A64 memory timing?

I have two random questions. First, is anyone folding with my username? I show 3 active CPU's in 50 days, and I only have 2. Not that I mind....fold for me!!! LOL. And secondly, I noticed that changing my RAM from 2T to 1T made me go from 4700 MB/sec to 5900 MB/sec in Sandra. Is it OK for me to make...

In my experience, people who dislike cats usually do because they are insecure regarding their own masculinity. Either that, or they feel threatened by a cat's independence, intelligence, and grace, all of which are substantially higher then their own. Anyone who delights running over a cat in thei...

Folding without Altivec is much akin to manually folding the protein by hand. Even with Altivec, PPC is slow because it's not as optimized as x86. The FSB is 100MHz. An 1100MHz G3 would have a multiplier of 11, and jumper settings can be found mixed in here . Since it's Powerlogix, however, it's on...

Blue and White G3 upgrade questions

OK, got some Mac questions. Back in the day I'd have known this cold, but...it's been many years. This is pretty much aimed at derFunk, since I know he will know, but anyone else can chime in too. :) OK, so I recently acquired a 400 Mhz G3 B&W, and a Powerlogix 1100 Mhz G3 chip, which I have yet...

Yes it's an MMORPG much like the Diablo series apparently. (I never played Diablo so I can't confirm that) The game itself follows a story line that takes you thru a series of quests and missions. You can go at your own pace, as your level is not based on the amount of time you play. It is based on...

Abit VT7 and Celeron-D 310?

Hey guys....I recently acquired an Abit VT7 for really cheap, based on VIA's PT880. Anyone have one of these...are they reliable, fairly speedy, etc? I don't have any parts to build an Intel machine at this time, so I may sell it here eventually. I can obtain a Celeron-D 310 for real cheap as well, ...

Crap, this may turn into a habit.....buying motherboards just to see how they smell. What would be cool is if the more you spent on them, the better they smelled. Or if the smell lasted longer.
