I'm using the latest nVidia chipset drivers. I resolved the GeForce 6600 hang-while-playing-video by getting the latest drivers. I resolved the ActiveArmor issue by uninstalling the nVidia Firewall. I resolved the Maxtor corruption issue by uninstalling the nVidia IDE drivers. I am about to resolve ...

nForce4 stability issue... resolved?

I may have accidentally resolved my nForce4 stability issues.

I disabled the USB2.0 option -- I set the BIOS to 1.1 only. The hangs appear to have disappeared. I hope it stays like this.

the car makers in Europe tend to get a lot more out of an engine than the ones in America. Well, yes and no. It depends entirely on the car (and its associated market segment). Peak horsepower and torque numbers are nice, but it's the shape and width of the powerband that separates the men from the...

Yes, this is very important. This is what makes the 350Z such a powerful autocross and race car. It doesn't have amazing figures stock: 287HP, 274lb-ft torque, but the torque curve is very flat and broad, meaning you get most of the torque all the way across the RPM range. Most engines will not giv...

Can I ask what kind of MPG your achieving out of your 8.1 V8 Chevy. I looked on their site, but they stated N/A! The 4.7 V8 only stated 15ish though! Heh. I'm averaging about 12 on a mix of city and highway driving. On my last fill-up, I dropped $70 on a tank of gas. Whee! Ah, well, you don't buy b...

Mobile Athlon in a desktop system?

I have one of the old 266 MHz NV220 motherboards. I'd really like to run one of the Barton-core Athlon XP Mobile processors in it, but I can't find anything that says it'll work.

Anyone know? Anyone done it?

Thanks.

Uh, everybody is kind of right and kind of wrong about this southbridge/BIOS thing. The NVRAM (or Flash RAM, alternatively) -- in which the code for the BIOS is stored -- very often hangs off the southbridge. It does not necessarily HAVE to, but commonly does. The reason for this, generally, is that...
