As I don't post much any more I'm happy I could direct this thread back towards alcohol before I slip back into the dark.

Re: Grim Dawn - The Diablo 2 Successor We Deserve

Got the game recently to have something new to play with a buddy of mine. I like it quite a bit, it has that D1.5 fell to it. The only thing that seems little confusing is the devotions because of the layers of options and my lack of time for reading/planning.

Had my best day in a while, 5 for 5. I think mostly Kharnellius and I got lucky in regards to Warships' match maker.

Yeah match making can be a bit crazy, even more so if you are in a division with someone a level up. You can see T8 while in a T5 ship :)

Re: Naval Fans: World of Warships is now Open Beta

http://blog.xbradtc.com/ A blog I read, but one that posts full HD vids of 3-4 WoW battles every week. In the most recent one I learned that whacking on an AFK player is "seal clubbing" (at least in this guy's lingo). Thanks for the link, I ended up watching the video where he is driving ...

I have just over 300 games in. Up to the CO on the BB line for the US and Omaha for CL. I haven't spent much time on any of the other lines thus far.

Re: Are you into astronomy? Show your gear!

I don't have a picture of my stuff assembled but I have a Celestron C8-SGT.  It's a 8", F/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain.  Considering it's 8" it is pretty compact so I normally take it to a friends house to use as I am in town and there are a lot of trees in my yard.  Between that and the weather...

I think you're close to the only one around here that knows what Yocto is, bruh. Seems like it, I would have thought one of the Linux guys would know. But really this was only Krogoth bait. Krogoth is unimpressed by the Krogoth release of Yocto  So unimpressed he didn't even comment 8)

Re: Diablo III

The drop rates have improved for sure at the same time most of the legendary drops have to be great to be worthwhile for me. I spend my time finding things to melt in the cube and the items needed for that. In a lot of ways I find it to be more enjoyable because there is something to do in this rega...

Re: Master of Orion

Yeah so far it is "mostly positive" on steam. That's 75% out of 742, which is pretty ok. But will need to see how things progress. On MOO2 I always liked to wall myself in and then tech up and wipe the map. The turn based battles made it so you could do alot with only a few ships at some p...

Play MOO2 with custom race traits: Imperium (upgraded from Dictatorship late in the game) Scientific Research +1 Ground Combat -10 Low Gravity Subterranean Creative You can go with Industrial Production +1 instead of scientific research if you prefer. Re: Master of Orion

Agreed, on MOO3 and I did give it a shot. I also remember it being somewhat buggy at launch and left half finished but it has been long enough I'm not sure.

For the new game, I like the idea of RTS for space combat vs the turn based. I hope the empire management is more like MOO2.

MOO3 = All the work of running an empire with none of the fun. Spreadsheets and micromanagement everywhere. My experience was the opposte. The game seemed to play itself. Yes it was almost impossible to force the game to do what you wanted instead of whatever the management AI wanted to do. Either ...

Master of Orion

Early access for Master of Orion looks to have just opened up on steam. It looks like you can only get the "Collector's Edition" right now which comes with MOO 1 - 3.

I really liked MOO2 back in the day, I hope they do a good job with the latest.

Re: How long x86 matter (or how soon 80% emulations speed)

I know of only a few emulators for x86. DEC/Alpha had an awesome emulator that would take the x86 and emulate while creating it's own "Alpha binary" so it could run native code after the first translation. Performance improved as the base app was run until "all" code paths where ...

I've seen this issue back when I worked on 2way radios. A range of frequencies would interfere with the USB connect to a PC and the PC would report an overvoltage. Drop or raise the frequency enough the issue would "go away". The issue was RF was bleeding down the cable and the people wit...
