Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

Oddly, I thought the drivers in Chicago were fairly tame compared to Boston when I have visited (4 or 5 times in total). The only drivers i've seen in person that were close to massholes were LA drivers. It's nuts there. Boston is worse than Chicago, I think mostly because the city was made for hor...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I drove it for 3 years. This was ~25 years ago when I had a downtown job and lived somewhere that didn't have good access to Pace/Metra. Drove a rustbucket beater of a car (rear bumper was literally tied on with rope the last few months it was still in running condition), so I was less afraid of ge...

Need some help with a logo

I couldn't decide what forum this should go in, apologies if I guessed wrong. I'm looking for someone to help me design a logo for a marching band. I know what I want, and I don't think it will be overly difficult. I just have 0 photo editing skills. There will be a little money in it, but not much,...

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

I currently work in the Chicago central business district, and yeah public transit is the only way to deal with that. In light traffic, travel times are theoretically a bit less by driving; but on weekdays traffic is never light, and drive times can easily increase by a factor of 2 (or more). Plus ...

I'm really bummed, only the 2nd one I've missed in 15. I woke up Saturday feeling like death, puked a couple times then by 3:00 or so I felt fine. Very strange. Next year!

Since the beach and fireworks are 99% of the reason that the wife and kids come along, I'm going to leave them home and come by myself. See everyone Saturday.

Re: DYMT: Imi's Legacy

So this is my 2nd year of having a garden. Last year I focused on hot peppers and things to feed my daughter's guinea pigs (cucumbers, parsley, romaine). This year I branched out into sweet peppers, kale and beans. I read somewhere that for peppers (both hot and sweet), that you should pinch off any...

Re: In the market for a drone

That's an interesting thought. I live under the final approach to Midway Airport , I wonder if its a no-fly zone? Probably wouldn't matter anyway, if I tried to fly it at my house my loon neighbor would probably shoot it down. He already keys cars that park in front of his house, what's shooting dow...

Re: In the market for a drone

I can back this up. My buddy has a DJI Phantom and when it's set to GPS mode it literally flies itself. You're basically just telling it where to move when you control it. It will keep itself still in altitude and lat/longitude even with wind. For camera work these things work great. There is a man...

Re: Sports heroes

Ugh I still remember that injury. "I'll be back next week." Even walked off the field. Nope, football career over. I never understood why Bo Jackson in particular just HAD to play football. As a RB, he's gonna take a lot more hits than say Dieon Sanders. Much higher injury risk. He could ...

In the market for a drone

OK so I recently won some money that I'm going to use to buy a drone. Hoping to have it in time for OMGWTFTRBBQ in late June. My budget is about $1500. Does anyone have any experience with drones, which ones are reliable, not prone to communications loss/crashing and can be flown using ones phone. I...

This might be the worst team I've ever drafted. After the 3rd or 4th round, every time I set on a guy to take with my next pick, he went a pick or two ahead of me and then I had no backup plan and just grabbed someone. Awful awful draft. I'm gonna need to work the waiver wire hard

I was at a conference for work last week which was held at a casino. So by day I went to the conference and by night I was in the casino. And I learned an amazing trick. If you're up by an amount that pleases you........stand up and walk away. Ended up almost $250 on the good for the 2 days

Re: End of an Era - Toys R Us

People are going to sorely miss brick and mortar when they are gone. No customer service, no ability to get a real look and feel for quality, no instant return and swap for a fault product. Never mind that when the only means to get an item is to have it shipped, eventually UPS and others will catc...

I'd be willing to bet that Mike Krzyzewski will end up personally clean, while some of his assistants go down. I'd be willing to wager that he does almost nothing outside of on-court coaching these days.
