Re: Samsung 840 & 840 EVO Bug

Any news on this issue, or the ETA for the firmware? Pulling the article referencing the April 14 date is not a good sign. My drive has once again presented slow reads, but since I already ran the "fix" previously, I can't even run the tool again for a temporary workaround. I fear that Sam...

Re: IE/FF rendering css page widths differently

try first using a doctype declaration on the html page (i.e. put <!DOCTYPE html> as the first line, before <html>), as IE may try to render in some weird compatibility mode if it isn't sure of what kind of document it is rendering.

Re: Guild Wars 2

So yesterday during my trot across Tyria I came across some (some being 2 and both were Quaganns) Karma vendors that were disabled in Spark Flyfenn. Curious I sought out an answer why and couldnt find anything. Question, if I already have two professions; Jewelcrafting and Weaponsmith can I pick up...

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta!!!

So one question I have are trophies, they are unsalvageable and cannot be sold to NPC vendors are they used for something? Something I havent come across. As of now I am keeping them. On my guardian I just destroyed them. If they don't sell as junk, they are probably part of a heart quest as an ite...

Re: Best PC FPS Games of the last 5 Years (Suggestions)

Another vote for Crysis 1!. Crysis Warhead is good if you want more of Crysis 1. You can safely pretend Crysis 2 doesn't exist. Battlefield 3 SP was very weak IMO, but some people rave about the MP. And it is verrry pretty. Deus Ex Human Revolution was pretty good IMO, but it's not your typical FPS....

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta!!!

Hey guys, long time no chat. I actually started playing Gw1 again (wouldn't mind a CBE invite if you're all still around). The scan is just to get the basics of your machine to them, it doesn't benchmark anything. It doesn't seem to notice more than one drive so I'm sure my SSD OS drive having on 5...

Re: Mass Effect 3 demo released!

Where/when? AFAIK the DLC prices for the PC version have been frozen since release (not a single sale that I know), and 29.99$ is still 3 times what I actually paid for the base game :-?. I think that's part of the reason why the EA vs Valve issue hasn't been resolved yet, since it would mean EA's ...

Re: dawn of war 2: retribution any good?

I actually liked more the DoW 40k games when they had bases than DoW2, but that's just me. I'm guessing you can get DoW: Dark Crusade pretty cheap and that has the best SP and MP out of the 40k games.

I installed the unofficial patch, but none of the intro videos played normally (just black with the audio) and the resolution menu only offers 3 options:

800x600
1024x768
1280x1024

Anyone got a fix for either of those?

Re: Official Mass Effect 2 Discussion Thread

I'm I the only one that thinks that all this DLC is overpriced? On one hand, you have to deal with "Bioware Points", which are basically a way to charge you more (ie this addon costs 320 points but we only sell 400 and up  ). Second, since Bioware is the only one that sell this DLC, ...

Re: COD series price fixing?

Considering that COD sells a bajillion copies at 60$, and a lot of those people buy the 15$ map packs, there's little incentive to drop prices. As far as I can tell Activision is the publisher that is least likely to have a sale/price reduction on steam, their prices are pretty much frozen all year ...

You can play the game without editing the files, it's just an option for you to tweak if you don't like the default behavior. I did multiple complete playthroughs of Crysis 1 and Warhead without touching those files, but you can toy around with it (which as far as I know isn't possible at all on Cry...

The action wheel for suit functions remain for those who like that, but the suit abilties now being bound to keys is a far better outcome. Oh boy you're definitely doing it wrong. Do yourself a favor, and go to the options and enable suit shortcuts. crouch + crouch = stealth mode sprint + sprint = ...

Re: What are "playable" FPS?

Playable is a subjective thing, whats playable to someone could be unplayable to another. My personal rule is if the game runs fast enough to not interfere with gameplay, which is usually > 30 fps but that depends on the game. The minimum framerate is decisive, playing a game at steady 30 fps works ...

Re: Crysis 2/Demo

I played the demo and it runs smoothly (40+ fps) on hardcore settings at 1920x1200. Granted, the game looks good but the MP is pretty fast paced so you won't be starting that much at the scenery. The real graphic test will probably be in the SP campaign, which AFAIK still hasn't been shown running a...
