I sprang for an Athlon 64 3000+ (because i am a college student and going any higher cuts into food supply) with the K8T Neo from MSI with 1gb of ram. This is an upgrade from a 1.4ghz Tbird... yes, i know that is sad... but so far i have been pleasantly pleased with all the new features, such as Coo...

The only thing about Tom's that is somewhat "fishy" is the fact that in the same benchmarks used at other sites, Tom's results always produce a faster Intel result. It just seems that Tom's is the only one that favor's Intel and in some ways uses words that poke at AMD at times. Also, Tom's has writ...

Its for games, i already have the Geforce 4 Ti 4600 and i am upgrading a few parts at a time, i am on a limited budget, but i like to stay reasonably on top of things. I also do some video editing and restoration but for the most part, its for games. I know that the Athlon 3000+ is a bit more power ...

Possible Bottleneck?

Do any of you think that a Geforce 4 Ti 4600 would be a big bottleneck in an Athlon 64 3000+ system with 1gb of Ram?

They are not trying to rob us yet! They still make a good product minus the 5800. :) Anymore repeats of that and i may start to question nVidia's focus on customers.

That is the power of the Internet. 12 year olds across the world can voice their opinions of racism, malice, and just about anything they can say to get a rise out of people for attention. The thing that people fail to realize is that the low scores are necessary. When 3dmark updates their product, scores go down, its that simple. I bought an OEM 1.4ghz thunderbird over a year ago from newegg, and i haven't had a problem with it. The point is, processors for the most part don't just "go bad" they may get fried from overclocking, or arrive dead because of poor shipping, but if you plug it in and it works, then you will be fine.

Does it say that they are disconnected or do the drives themselves just disappear? If they just get disconnected, it probably means that you rebooted one the machines when the other one wasnt on. Linux on the desktop is a lost cause. It is just not a feasible alternative at this point. I am not saying that linux as an OS is bad, just not good for the desktop. As far as lockups go, EVERY windows OS has lockups, including 2k. Just have to deal with it till Microsoft switches cores. :)
