I have to agree with the general sentiment here, especially whm1974 and Chrispy_. I have an Evga 1060 6GB SC with single fan - the 1060 can be a bit underrated at times, as it does 1440p surprisingly well in many cases. Mine almost always clocks itself right about 2GHz while working. Not extremely h...

I didn't say that the stereotypes apply to everyone, but I think that if we give an IQ test, people who watch WWE and Football will score lower then everybody else. I was staying out of it just fine, but this is too much. Things (not people) I love most in life: Nature. Sports. Technology (PC's, se...

Good gods this makes me glad I don't use Windows anymore or did MS fixed this with Windows 10? Since using smaller SSDs is very common to use for boot/OS drives among geeks, I would think MS would fixed this issue by now. OS servicing is different in 10. For more details, contact MS. 7 really is re...

Absolutely yes on the new PSU.

If the 650W PSU can handle your components, the Antec Earthwatts series is still viable. I have a 380W version from 2010 still powering a Kaby Lake i3-based BlueIris system. It works fine, even at idle, even without "Haswell compatibility".

Did you ever just let it sit there with a blank screen for a while, like 5 - 10 minutes? My Asus X370 sometimes likes to come up after a flash and do some more flashing on its own. Settings are almost always reset when this happens, and previously resolved incompatibilities (RAM speeds, boot orders,...

Look for a performance/boot setting in UEFI/BIOS that controls processor boot sequence frequency. On recent Intel-chipset desktop boards, I've seen various manufacturers identify and set this differently. Obviously I'm not sure if this is the issue but it sounds like it's worth a look. For example, ...
