Thank you for all of the replies!!! OK, to simplify my life a bit, for now I will avoid setting up a RAID array and just focus on the SSD + 3TB + Backup routine. For backing up, I will give Crashplan a shot, for $5 a month it seems like the right approach. As for converting my current 3TB drive, ass...
Hello! It has been years since I have posted here, and hopefully you all will be able to guide me in my search. I'm currently running a computer for my photography business and I've run out of space in my main drive, which has prompted me to re-think my setup. CURRENT SETUP: Windows 7 64 bit Intel C...
Not for the faint of heart! This little guy was moving quick, but paused every now and then for a close up... All images taken with a Nikon D800 and Sigma 105mm f/2.8 OS macro. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/552450_517158251646154_1953086395_n.jpg https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...
I love HDR images, especially moody skies against vivid landscapes. Does your camera have a built-in HDR mode or are you post-processing on a PC? Of the images posted, only the first image of Maroon Bells is an HDR photo, and even that shot it wasn't really required to acheive the dynamic range of ...
Glad to see some activity in this thread again! I thought I would share a few shots from my trip to Colorado along with a nice image taken the morning after a family reunion in Brunswick Nebraska, hope you like them! First up, Maroon Bells: http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/8140/dsc4574hdr.jpg Roar...
Hello all, it has been a long time since I last posted. My wife and I are now proud parents of twins, and the last three months have been the craziest of my life...but in a good way! I haven't been doing too much personal photography during this time, but I was able to get out a week ago to do some ...
I has been a while since some images have been posted... I am sitting in a hospital room as I type this while my wife is on bed rest, she is carrying our twins and we are not too far away from being parents...which is crazy to think about...so I have a feeling my "photography for fun" migh...

I really like the mood of that barn shot...I have been WISHING for some fog for a long time when I'm out photographing...it just never seems to be the right time...
Where in the gulf was that? I think I may have been there myself on a business trip a couple of years ago.
I was in Biloxi, and this pier was west of the Beau Rivage Hotel/Casino just off the highway. I wish I had a more attempts at this, but unfortunately I had just the one night...
I was just in New Mexico for business reasons and I was able to sneak out for a few hours to White Sands National Monument...the sunrise was a bust, so I mostly focused on panoramas with my 17mm tilt-shift on my 60D. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/392190_327709303924384_2649619...
It has been awhile since anyone has posted so I figured I would break the silence...this was taken last night with the full moon lighting the foreground quite nicely. It is a stack of around 175 photos each 30 seconds long, and I will post the video once I have it uploaded to Vimeo. Hope you guys li...
Were you using a fill-flash for those shots into the sun?
I did not fire a single flash. Mostly the light was either soft enough to get some light on the couple or I used an adjustment brush in Lightroom to add around .5-.75 EV to the couple.

I'm not sure what was in that building...but to the bottum right you can see some old horseshoe pits in pretty bad condition... I just got back from visiting KC, it was a great time and my wife and I had never visited the WWI memorial...that was pretty sweet! https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hph...
Finally I can post a few of the images from my tour of Nebraska. I was commissioned to photograph 35 different cities in Nebraska for a local business who has conference rooms named after each of the cities, with the end result being 2-4 prints per room. It was so much fun road-tripping (3,200+ mile...
We had a pretty cool lightning show tonight...had to dodge some rain to get these... https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/291938_10150274279507616_524197615_7923830_1080909_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/299073_10150274279602616_524197615_7923832_4780268_n...
Cool shot of Denali JAE! Where you in a plane when you took this? I have been trying to get outside lately to actually start relaxing a bit as this summer finally winds down...I have one more wedding to edit and a bit more work on my commissioned work from around Nebraska and then I may actually slo...
This thread seems to be slowing down... https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/184089_10150259729327616_524197615_7769215_709958_n.jpg Edit: Here's another from last night...I was driving home from shooting a wedding during a lightning storm, I probably missed the ideal shooting time b...
I had not seen Alex's post until now...it's crazy we both have spider shots to share! This guy has had a prime location all summer next to our flood light on the deck, and he has gotten huge! https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/283051_10150256618122616_524197615_7737273_5281601_n.jpg
Interestingly, that shot with the lightning arc following the outer curve of the lens circle had vivid chromatic aberration, and required a fairly strong PP adjustment to kill. First time I've had an obvious CA occurrence in one my images. Well I would say that's also a pretty extreme example of bo...
