Re: Need some troubleshooting help

Just an update if anyone cares (I know you don't really). I couldn't narrow the problem down so I just ended up RMAing the motherboard and cpu.

Re: Need some troubleshooting help

Well unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the memory. I set the voltage to 2.0 and it would still hang. I swapped in the known good memory from the second system and I still get the same results. Any other suggestions on how to narrow down what it is?

Re: Need some troubleshooting help

USacomp, any idea why the other identical system would have no problems with the same kind of memory then?

Need some troubleshooting help

Ok so it was time to build new systems for the wife and I. I picked everything out and just doubled it. Everything came in and the install seemed to go fine until I went to load Vista. One will be ok for a few minutes (5-10) and then just lock up. It doesn't matter whether it's in the BIOS or the vi...

Total nit pick I know but there's a bit of a difference between a .9mm and a 9mm

The Drozd is a blast though, great fun if you can get one.

I've been around just haven't found much to post on lately. I finally remembered to get rid of that horrible .5 score for Folding too ;)

My wife and I played through the expansion for NWN and loved it, it's not as long as the original but still a decent story line. After install time the only disc in you need is the expansions disc, that's even for the original campaign.

You could always use a distro like Knoppix, save your space and get a fully functional linux distro at the same time. Knoppix can also be installed to a HD instead of run from a CD but I haven't tried it so I'm not sure how much space it would use. Running from the CD has worked great though so I ha...

I've read through all the books for both series, LotR is by far the best. I enjoyed both but Potter was not as original as I would have liked.

I have a Sharp Zaurus that I can do this with and have tested it but I don't use it that often since the Z has no built in speaker. But yeah it's possible as long as the PDA can get to the files.

VNC viewer should at least be in the standard CD set, it was last time I used it. I've also seen some other remote desktop viewing software which will allow you to connect to VNC servers, can't remember the name of them right now though.

There's nothing "n00blar" or wrong about using VMWare to mess around with different operating systems. The only downside is that most people won't want to pay for a $300 license just to mess around.

Maybe try logging in to RHNs webpage and see if it prompts you to fill out the survey. Other then that go through the registration wizard and make a new account. And of course remember to fill out those surveys ;)

Since 9 came out RedHat has been making me reconfirm through an email link that I still want to use their free update service. I think they send it out once every couple months or so. Annoying but other then that no problems with it.
