Re: PSU Wattage Question

I had a $60 gift card at amazon and I've had bad experiences with MIR. One company claimed I didn't send in the proof of purchase (which I had no way to prove I did since they had it) another took over 4 months to process, etc.

Re: PSU Wattage Question

Thank you all for the advice. I ended up going with the Seasonic FOCUS Plus 650 Gold SSR-650FX 650W which was $90 from amazon.

PSU Wattage Question

My current PSU Corsair CX600M has started making a clicking noise while gaming leading me to think it is probably time to replace it. I saw a deal for a EVGA 650 BQ which I tried but had to send back because the fan sounded like a Dustbuster. For my own sanity I want as quiet of a PSU as possible wh...

Re: Are games space requirements getting out of hand?

I saw a conversation on reddit the other day in regards to the next Call of Duty's 130gb footprint. The top post suggested it was partly because of games downloading every audio language.

I'll swap that cable. I ordered a powered USB hub hopefully that will fix my phone problem.

Is my motherboard going bad?

My computer  i5-4670,  ASUS Z87M-PLUS, Corsair CX600M, G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 16gb (4x4gb), MSI Geforce 1070. 840 Pro (OS), 850 EVO (games), then a couple HDD for mass storage. Initially the problem I was having is when playing Witcher 3 occasionally everything would freez...

Re: Mainboard Temperature

Unless this was an OEM system, just install the monitoring software from your motherboard vendor. Every company makes a monitoring program and if your motherboard has a temp sensor then it will show it. Only temperature the ASUS utility shows is the CPU. yeah, the OP mentioned that OCZ didn't put a...

Re: Mainboard Temperature

If there's no motherboard temp reported in the BIOS they probably didn't bother to install the sensor. Does the temperature reported in HWMonitor ever change? If not, then it is almost certainly just trying to query a non-existent sensor, and getting nonsense as a result. It's been changing but jus...

Re: Mainboard Temperature

This is at idle right? If so, you could check to see if it reads the same in the BIOS. I've heard that sometimes HW monitor is way off, though usually with voltages. Also, your Vertex 3 is way out of line too. I already checked the BIOS and I didn't find a temperature for the motherboard. All other...

Mainboard Temperature

I recently got CPUID HWMonitor and my mainboard temperatures seem way off(128C/235F). I touched all my motherboard heat sinks and none of them felt hot or loose. I didn't see a mainboard temperature in the bios or any temperatures that looked way off. None of the fans appeared to be broken and the d...

Re: THQ Studios Split Up

Sad about Darksiders, Crytek got the Homefront IP for cheap (That story + their engine = sex), and hopefully most of the other titles won't be negatively affected. I thought that it was cheap too when I first read it, but it kind of makes sense now that I think about it. Red Dawn, World in Conflict...

Re: Steam Sale - Christmas 2012

Green Man Gaming had Dishonored 50% off at $29.99 on Tuesday, you may see it for that during this sale. In general only buy daily deals and flash deals since those seem to be the lowest price the game will be at during the sale until the final day, then get whatever you wanted that never showed up o...

Re: The 3D Sweeter Spot

If you plan on using a 3DTV you probably want to do some research on if the TV will be up to it. My understanding is a lot of tv's are built to a hdmi 1.4 spec which limits you to 1080p@24Hz or 720p@60Hz.

I wouldn't put too much stock in how steam is doing based on how one title is selling in a somewhat poor time for releases.

Issue with Dual Boot and Windows 7

I've been dual booting windows 7 and windows xp. But recently I had a problem with some antivirus software that caused my windows 7 partition to become unstable. So I reinstalled windows 7 and now I no longer am given the option to boot to xp. I checked the drive and all my xp files are still there ...

Perhaps more coop-based gameplay? I haven't seen the new medic achievements, but it'd be cool if medics could cooperate to give off a healing aura or something. I am going to be completely pissed off if they add an obscure achievement that I've already completed. Like healing 5 people on fire...
