Any word on when the theme will be restored, reading on a white background is really bad. :(

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably just wait until a problem develops and then address it at that point.
Until then...cheers :)

Water Replacement in Sealed Closed Loop H80i?

I've had a Corsair H80i sealed closed loop keeping things in check with my i7-2600k CPU o/c to 4.4Ghz since 2012. I use the PC a lot and sometimes it runs perpetually for months without powering down. At what point does the liquid need to be replaced, if at all? Since it's a sealed closed loop does ...

Re: Is Sandy Bridge worth upgrading from yet?

I almost exclusively game on my desktop at home, and it's got the 2500k @ 4.5Ghz. With the new Intel chips out, have we finally had enough incremental improvements to make Kaby Lake worth replacing SB? I'm in a similar boat to you. I have a 2600K o/ced to 4.4Ghz with a closed loop water cooler and ...

Re: ASUS RT-N66U questions

Honest question (for you and JBI): why Tomato over Merlin or stock firmware?. I've never used Merlin although I was briefly tempted for awhile because of it's Multi-WAN support....but then Tomato Shibby came out with Multi-WAN support 2-3 releases ago so I had no reason to. I guess just out of pure...

Re: ASUS RT-N66U questions

A little late to this post but, honestly, if I were OP I would take a look at Tomato Shibby's firmware for his router. It's very good. I've been running that as my primary firmware for about 4 years now.

A router that is compatible with Tomato Shibby's firmware can do that.
Alternatively, pfSense will most likely fit the bill.

I'm running an i7-2600k o/c to 4.4Ghz and have absolutely zero inclination to upgrade. I do upgrade the GFX card every 2 years or so though.
I would say to OP, waste of money unless you have some cash to burn.

Warsam71, is there any official word from the company on frame pacing improvements with respect to Eyefinity + Crossfire configurations?
Last I learned on this there were some major problems with the drivers.

Re: Eyefinity Crossfire Frame Pacing Issue?

Perhaps this would be a good opportunity for Damage to re-visit his original article and bring some attention to this as it sounds like it's an on-going problem that has only somewhat been addressed by the powers that be. He even mentioned in that article that the reason this is a big deal is becaus...

Eyefinity Crossfire Frame Pacing Issue?

This article was written a year ago tomorrow . Is anybody aware if this issue has been resolved by AMD since then? From an old mining rig I have 3x R9 280x's I'd like to put into a Crossfire configuration that will drive a 3-display Eyefinity setup with a total resolution of 5760x1080. It would be ...

Re: Windows 9 - Microsoft desperately needs a winner

I just wanted to sum up via quotes from this thread the *exact* reasoning that Microsoft chose to employ that leads us to this discussion today: There was no reason they couldn't have kept Win 7's interface with Windows 8 and given the users the option to choose which was best for their type of syst...

Re: SSDs and Sudden Power Failures

I had 2x 256GB OCZ Vector's in a RAID0 configuration and lost everything after a botched overclock. One of the drive's failed to be recognized by the BIOS and had to be sent in for RMA. The failed overclock led to a sudden power loss and this may have caused the issue.

Re: Sanity check! Rsync for dummies

Is rsync's delta capability going to work in this case? The delta capability only works if the files exists in the source and destination, plus one of the two has to be a remote system. The remote system part is covered, but unless the files are on both systems with only changes being transferred, ...

Re: Sanity check! Rsync for dummies

Yeah, the find is going to run locally; that's not what you want. Have you tried playing around with rsync 's filtering rules? Also, the --dry-run and --progress options are your friends. Good way to see what rsync thinks you want it to do without actually transferring anything. As far as I can und...

Sanity check! Rsync for dummies

Hi, I'm a little rusty on this and I'm looking for a second opinion on the quality of my syntax. Essentially what I'm trying to accomplish is have rsync copy files that end in .vma.gz and which have changed within the last 24 hours from a remote server to a local server. I think I'm in complete erro...

Props to the OP for taking a risk on this.

Coming from a relatively uninformed stance on this but surely Intel has done their due diligence with regards to applying the right TIM?
For that matter why is TIM even needed inside the package?
