Outside of a few outliers, going beyond four threads yields little or no benefits to mainstream workloads and games. Unless you plan on streaming with the CPUs. It is them main reason why Intel never bother making a 6 core normal desktop SKU until pressure from Ryzen 7. Uh, what? Smoother gameplay ...

That was super cold. Actually, I do that a lot of the time too. Some details get left behind, and vendor websites are more about showing the bling. What severe issues at AMD??? Fudzilla was claiming AMD is losing money on early Vega cards (which maybe, I have no idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is nearly a break-even scenario on the RX Vega 56) but if that is true wouldn't it be "smart" on their part to "slow roll" t...

However how is goat curry? I might try that next time I go to a Indian place. Very similar to lamb curry, but IME goat tends to have a slightly "gamier" flavor. Any foods you recommend next time I go to a Indian place? You don't have to wait till you go to a Indian restaurant-Presume it's...

There's a really good Indian/Nepali place just down the road and their lamb vindaloo is delicious (and spicy as hell). Haven't tried the goat yet, but they have it on the menu. Haven't had a bad thing from them yet. The Vindaloo we see today is based on a Portuguese dish that evolved in the Portugu...

NICE-But where spinning rust is involved USB3 or SATA will be bottlenecked to around 100MBsec............ 3.5" HDDs are quite a bit faster than that these days. Not sure about 2.5" HDDs (haven't benched one lately), but they're probably faster than that too, especially the higher density ...

Lithium batteries wear out faster when they're flat. Keep them topped up when possible and if you can, avoid running them all the way down to zero. I've heard conflicting advice about this. SSDs aren't really something I want to buy used unless I can verify SMART data first. 320s are a good idea, though. In an NCase M1, I don't have anywhere to put a hot-swap bay. Re: Which upgrade for more FPS, from an i5-3570K GTX 970

A GPU upgrade will give you the best improvement. A 1070 or a Vega 56 should give you about a 50% improvement. Recommend you OC your 3570 to around 4.2-That's not a major OC and should be fine. If your wanting to go higher than a 1070,then you'd need to consider upgrading your CPU/Motherboard as wel...

Zen has now saturated all markets, excluding Mobile (which should be by the end of the year). Between Ryzen 3-7, Threadripper, Epyc, and the next gen Zen+/Zen 2 (to use the same chipset as Zen 1), does AMD have any chance of achieving "a double digit percentage share of the market?" (I do...
