Re: Coronavirus COVID-19 precautionary measures?

From Asst. Prof in infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins University, quite informative. * The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code....

Dang, sorry to hear that when F@h finally comes up with a working core the 5000 series is probably gonna suck at folding.

edit - It seems almost like an Intel level of product segmentation. Forcing GPU compute workload users to buy a work station video card or a Nvidia card.

Yep, according to foldingforum.org they are still working on a folding core compatible with the navi version of openCL. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=31710&start=60#p308923 Bruce wrote on 9/24 - "Confirmed. AMD Navi based cards do not work with the current core. OpenMM 7...

Glad I could help. I suspect a bios software bug in the pci-e buss splitting section. There might be an updated bios on your motherboards website. Good luck with the 5700s! I am green with envy.

Re: Folding Billinaire Now getting 15% PPD Tried Everything

I am going to sneak out on a limb and assume the two RTX2070s was last thing you did before it all went sideways after removing them? Have you tried setting the BIOS to default and checking the setting that enables the new hardware check on every cold restart? It is usually some non-intuitive choice...

I had a Granada in Florida that started failing to start when it was hot. I grabbed my trusty can of freeze spray and made the computer box frosty. It fired right up. Replaced the computer box and no more problem. In a pinch you could use a can of air duster held upside down. If this has already bee...

Kind of a sad commentary on the literacy of the average bear, but here we are stuck in the middle with new owners. Perhaps they will try this two prong venture instead of a click bait site which will likely be dismissed as a waste of time?

The bad: Yes, the blacks aren't quite as good, and a few images seem to have a bit of a washed out effect, but I believe I can calibrate that and take care of it. Also, I have to work on a bit of gamma correction. ... Most TN monitors I've seen have better blacks than most IPS panels I've seen. The...
