Re: Camping / Hiking :

For new campers looking for tents -- The rated number of adult sleepers should be taken with a grain of salt. Unless you know otherwise, always get a tent rated for more people than you actually have. example for 2 people, get a "3 person" tent. Also, pay attention to height... Correct on...

Re: Car accident, what is insurance's responsibility?

Anyone who has dealt with another party's insurance company knows that it's almost always a nightmare. Maybe it's Florida, but we've always had great success. Our car got sideswiped by some num-nut not paying attention. We took it to their service center the next day. They had a rental car there wa...

That's the same pole style as the new one we got. It is this one I think (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail- ... t/51718436). Popping it up in the living room took less than 5 minutes.

Re: Camping / Hiking :

We love camping. Hiking not as much. We are more the "car camping" type. We were planning on doing a 4 day trip this weekend to General Coffee Park in south Georgia, but had to cancel due to rain. We were hoping to try out our new tent too. Alas.

I equate warping to folding (a la Steven Hawking) the fabric of the time-space continuum. In that sense it is very different than hyperspace in SW which is more akin to a parallel universe.

I think search engines and other stuff like that is going to be a instill moral in your child and then trust their behavior. You can't shelter them forever (nor would you want to). The age of giving that freedom is going to be completely dependent on the child. Also, don't except perfection. Speakin...

Don't forget that in Win10 you can use Win + Up/Down Arrow after a side snap to snap to a quarter of the screen (ie Win+Right -> Win+Up will snap to the top right corner)

Re: Ticking and Popping Sound

Maybe this already came up, but are you running through any sort of power conditioner for power coming into your computer? I'm almost thinking you've got some dirty power coming in. I've see houses with old knob-and-tube wiring that adding a conditioner was almost required for anything audio related.

Re: Anyone repair anything today?

Distillation is usually more expensive than reverse osmosis unless you're getting your steam for free. I know desalinization plans are starting to pop up right next to Nuclear plants to take advantage of off-peak capacity. I wonder if something similar could be done for city water supply. It's effe...

Ya'll are making me want to try it again on my third screen to see what I'm missing. 2160p scaled down to 50% would be pretty close the the 1440p that I was running it at manually. EDIT: Done. I'll live with it for a little while and see. Off the bat Remote Desktop doesn't like it, but they added a ...

Re: Anyone repair anything today?

Can't you just run it through a filter versus a softener? I'd rather just remove the contaminants rather than replace them with other additives. For reference, we bought our current house with a full-functional water softener which I took out on day 7 of owning the house. This thread has reminded me...

Re: Anyone repair anything today?

The tub plunger wouldn't close anymore. It actually was pretty simple to fix once I did some minimal research. Unscrew the overflow plate, pull the whole assembly out, put it back in and work it up and down to dislodge and crud that was blocking the mechanism, then it was good to go. Took less than ...

I still personally don’t see the value in scaling. I’ll admit I haven’t seen one work. 27” at 1440p or 23” at 1080 seems to be about right for me. This is for work stuff. For gaming it is all about GPU resources.
