Re: Headphone market for 2018: Hot mess

Related: Every time I read some ode to the space savings achieved by eliminating the 3.5mm jack, I pick up my Apple iPod Nano 7th-gen (or the memories of a busted 6-th gen product that I disassembled for kicks, once) and marvel at how little space a well-engineered port actually requires. I'll have to disagree with you there. Maybe in theory, yes. The reality is that execution of 8 was such that every theme that was started and door that was opened, was either ignored or took a left-turn into crazy-ville.

It made 7 make a lot less sense, so yes, retroactively tarnished the series.

I don’t disagree with him. I’m willing to see if 9 continues the bad or can, I’m some way, redeem it.

Looking at my laptop today and usb-c, usb-a, mini-dp and the power cable all had roughly the same amount of exposed metal. Not much of a problem in my book.

Why should they replace another company’s battery? That certainly is outside the scope of expectations. It would have been nice but I certainly wouldn’t think it fair to have that be expected.

Touchscreen laptops are great for a few things. Media consumption. Also infinite resizing in MSOffice. I don’t see a touchpad being any better. Plus it is very unnatural to look down here when using a laptop.

If your return isn't really complicated, just download the PDF forms from the IRS, fill them out using Adobe Reader, print and mail. Believe it or not, I still do my taxes this way. With the bump in the standard deduction, I'll have even less incentive to use tax software for 2018 since I probably ...

One option for drumming up business is wireless installs. Especially for people with acreage. Running some point-to-point bridges to remote barns and such. The Ubiquity nanobeam line is pretty fantastic and easy to use.

I had a paintball game from back in the day that was a straight-fps. That was the closest thing to a virtual form of a game that could actually be played physically. It's old, and it runs best with a Glide wrapper[!], but Nerf Arena Blast is worth a look if you've never tried it. I still have my or...
