Re: Can I install Apple Carplay and Android Auto at the same time on a vehicle?

Cassette players are much more reliable as an input than Early BT implementations. The cd-only that had not cassette or line-in were a dark period in personal audio.

I hate 24fps. Judder drives me insane. That’s why I have motion smoothing set on “high” on my TV. That’s helps quite a bit.

Very good quarterly earnings report. The stock market likes it too. 70 jump which is around 20%. Revenue is slightly down year over year but profitability is way up.

Re: PlayStation 5

The shape is pretty ugly. I can understand it from an airflow standpoint though. Which means users could swap out the original SSD with one of much higher capacity/speed and the OS could recognise that and re-initialise itself. I doubt that'll happen. It certainly isn't needed for speed. Even an old...

Re: Wireless router recommendation

Couldn't say about my earlier wifi routers because they had Tomato installed for most of their service. If modern routers still have the restart requirement, it's bizarre. After all these years, you'd think stock software from SoC providers or ODMs (or even final customized versions from the consum...

Re: How do I set USB ports to power off when I turn off the PC?

I use power strips with a switch. One fell swoop, and also the monitor is really off. Hmm... the old PSUs with an IEC output were actually a decent idea. I had completely forgotten about those. Did the ATX standard kill them off? I think it was only AT boards that had the side-by-side power connect...

Who are these people who want foldable phones? I don't get it. Am I just having a "get off my lawn" moment? Is this just the megacorps chasing another imaginary trend, or are there people who actually want these things? To play devil's advocate: the Nintendo DS was panned as a weird gimmi...

There's not much difference between the 2018 version III and the 2010 version II of the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM. Version II brought measurable image quality improvement over the already impressive (for a zoom lens) 2001 original. https://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-70-200mm-f-2.8...

I like Unifi but I don't see anything they have that would end up under $250 at the least so that rules it out.

What I have at home is the ER-X + AP AC Lite. That's ~60 + ~80 = $140.

Is it going to be a dedicated box? I agree with Waco.
For mine, I have the house desktop as the Plex server and the files are stored on the network with a simple low-power Synology NAS.

Hmm...the fast focusing is definitely a consideration. Good to know. The big downside of those lens converters is that you lose all automatic control, which is pretty rough for rapid composing. I think I picked a bad example. It looks like this one has full automatic control: https://www.bhphotovid...
