Re: New monitors besides the $2000 4K 144Hz ones coming soon?

I was using my 3840x1600 FreeSync display for gaming (iRacing) but once I started using my Oculus Rift I've never gamed on that display again.

I'll believe it when I see it.

My GTX 1080 is in dire need of an upgrade. :(

Nvidia can afford to wait as they are the performance king.

I can't remember the last sound card I purchased. I've been using USB audio for ages. At the moment it's either audio via my PC 373D or audio via my Oculus Rift.

Build 1803 is a clusterfrack. Worst build of Windows 10 evar.

My ThinkPad was trashed by 1803. Whoever QA that POS should be severely dealt with.

Re: Is a bigger monitor with lower pixel density necessarily worse than a smaller one with higher pixel density?

I've currently got a 31½" 2560x1440 primary monitor with a 24" 1200x1900 secondary beside it. Both of these are around 96 ppi. Once you're old enough to begin getting far-sighted, teeny tiny pixel pitches will not seem as cool as they do when you're in your 20s. You are muddying the water...

Re: Is a bigger monitor with lower pixel density necessarily worse than a smaller one with higher pixel density?

For me, no, but there are exceptions. My T480 has a 14" 2560x1440 display that I run at 100% scaling. I prefer using a 27" 2560X1440 display at 100% scaling. One of my fav displays is the 12.9" 2732x2048 display found in my iPad Pro. It has a very high 264 PPI but it uses a quad pixel...

I firmly believe that, in the right car, Grosjean can be world champion. That being said I have no fracking clue what he was thinking today.

I nodded off 5 or 6 times after his spin.

The storm extended up into the Great White North. It hit Ontario hard. Toronto suffered from freezing rain that caused havoc with our power grid. I'm sure they would be, but I wouldn't expect first generation desktop ARM-based Apple CPUs to on par with Intel. You think the public release will be the first generation? I predict will simply see a convergence where arm comes up to the same level. Then it will simply be juggling performance-per-watt instead of raw performance. If Apple can bring its 64-bit ARM based SoC designs level with Intel I think they would be very happy. I'm sure they would be, but I wouldn'...
