The current version of Chrome is 62.0.3202.94 - it supports H.264.

Chrome 8.0.552.224 is from 2010.

Re: Form factor trends

there is still a long way to go in the form of the desktop PC to make them worth having over a laptop/tablet/phone. What? The desktop PC is all about massive amounts of computing power and the ability to upgrade key components. That is what makes them worth having over a laptop/tablet/phone. Nobody...

I don't know about phones, but my laptop has it and it sucks. Also one of the first things I turned off. I think that would depend on the laptop. It is more secure than faceid. I love it when you make statements without a shred of evidence to support your claim. I have no clue which is more s...

Re: The iPhone got forked!

My beef is I want to choose when it's authenticated and when it's not. I feel like the fingerprint authentication system was perfect. I feel like the second-gen touch sensor in the 6S Plus and my wife's 7 Plus (edit: and in my Pixel 2, for that matter) just can't be topped. I touch the sensor when ...

You decide which apps use Touch/Face ID.

Using Outlook as an example: When i switch to Outlook Face ID kicks in. The same thing happens when using Touch ID. What is your beef with this?

Re: The iPhone got forked!

That’s the real Face ID revolution. Since you’re almost always looking at your iPhone while you’re using it, Face ID enables what I call “continuous authentication.” That statement right there is a crock. You mean to tell me that if you show your phone to someone else it'll lock? No. That's not wha...

I can't get into any of the new american muscle cars. They've got crazy high HP and I'm sure they're a blast, but they're also rather oaf'ish by today's standards. They don't have the character of the classics, and high horsepower alone just doesn't impress me these days. It also seems like america...

Re: I sure wish I have a 40" 4K display...

I just bought a bike trainer and this thread got me thinking of a setting up a 4K display on a floor mounted stand. I measured out the dimensions of a 40" display and it was just way to big. I then went looking at the 32UD99-W but that was fracking hard to find and fracking expensive. I settled...

IPHONE SECURITY https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=0&v=dUMH6DVYskc You either a) never research your posts or b) deliberately obfuscate the facts - it's what you do and you're very good at it. Apple released a security white paper that discussed this very topic OVER TWO WEEKS BEFORE TH...

I would love more RAM in the iPhone. I feel like iOS11 is much more rigid on killing apps such that they require full reload than iOS10 did, presumably for RAM reasons. This is on the iPhone7+, the flagship model up until 8 weeks ago.

You can see the extra RAM advantage in this video.

You stated that "a car with rear-engine is fundamentally wrong". You did not mention anything about price. Apparently you are not aware of the price of a 458. ... The current rear-engined 991.2 GT3 beat both the mid-engined 981 GT4 (27 seconds) and the mid-engined 458 (15 seconds). The 99...

Sorry, but a car with rear-engine is fundamentally wrong. I'd rather have a Cayman 981 GT4 (if you are into Porsche) or Ferrari 458 (no, not the latest turbo one). Porsche itself regularly promotes the 4-wheel drive versions And yet the ultimate performance 911 models are rear wheel drive: GT3 GT3 RS GT2 RS The greatest Caymen ever made (GT4) does not even come close to the above 911 models in terms of performance, handling, and driver satisfaction both on an...

Re: Quite possibly the greatest car ever

On the electric front, a Challenger Demon versus a 2017 Tesla S P100D (with ludicrous speed) would be a very interesting drag contest. In a thread about a manual 911 you mention drag racing? Re: Quite possibly the greatest car ever

Air-cooled 911s are all about their weird handling, the layout is objectively inferior but I'd still way rather have one then anything else Porsche has made. Well, I could be forced to accept a Carrera GT I'd take a current gen 911 GT3 Touring over a GT. As far as the layout being inferior I think ...
