BlackBerry Bold 9000
BlackBerry Torch 9800
BlackBerry Bold 9900
BlackBerry Z10
Motorola Nexus 6

I got tired of waiting for the BlackBerry Z30 Refresh so I caved and got a Nexus 6 then went straight home and ripped all of the google crap out of it by installing Pure Nexus.

Re: Starfalcon's Great Hardware Inventory

Hmm...was digging through dusty workbench drawers this weekend and discovered a PCI card with vintage 3DFX logos and a cryptic inscription of "Creative CT6670" on the back. The Internet says it's a 12MB Voodoo2. I thought I gave that entire stash to Starfalcon, but guess I saved one for m...

I've thought a few times about begging you to assemble a Win98 Retro gaming rig for me to buy from you. Sans the giant CRT of course, I already have that.

Re: Starfalcon's Great Hardware Inventory

Surprised you still have that 366mhz Celeron I sold you all those years ago. Seeing this makes me want to dig out my old ware and get it moved, most of it is from the Socket A era with a couple of A64 bits. Doubt it's really worth much though.

I find Linus to be one of the most annoying, loud, and unlikable people in tech news. Scott makes this video tolerable.

Re: New Phone Experiment

I'm really surprised you didn't grab a Nexus 6. You can get them off ebay in the $200 range and they were updated to Android 7.0 recently. Going to custom rom route you can get PureNexus v7.1.1 and it's stupidly easy to root and unlock a nexus phone. Updates only go for 18 months. I've used the par...

Re: Ryzen and DX12

I think a lot of what is being seen is just bad coding on the devs side. Ashes of the Singularity... a game that was built for DX12 and didn't add DX12 as an after thought like other games... shows a lot of gain on Ryzen. Not from Tom's Hardware Guide it doesn't. It lags behind a 6900K by 30-40FPS ...

Re: Intel Licensing AMD GPU Tech

Let's play Connect the Dots. Intel wants to move into cloud based AI and learning software. AMD has the Radeon Instinct that is built for machine learning. Intel also has an IP deal with nvidia at a cost of $200m a year so nVidia does not sue them. And Intel can get a better deal with AMD and drop t...

Re: Intel Licensing AMD GPU Tech

None of the news says intel is completely ditching it's own IGP. Some of the low end SKUs and those with the Iris silicon are said to stay around, but the Radeon parts are for CPU's used in certain products. You sound like you are trying your damnedest to go into denial about AMD and Intel working ...

Any evidence that these cuts came from the graphics team? Re: Intel Licensing AMD GPU Tech

Why would so many of the recent AMD GPU demo systems use Intel CPUs? Probably because there is also talk that RTG wants to spin off from AMD and come full circle. All of it is more than plausible with what I've seen over the past year. If you guys read all of that I posted in that link rather than s...

Intel Licensing AMD GPU Tech

I guess we can go ahead and say it's confirmed? All of the info points to yes. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/amd-why-intel-pay-license-increasingly-valuable-property-luskin While it's not going to be an on-die solution, it's still AMD GPU tech bundled with Intel CPU's via an off-die MCM. That's a really old Computer. Athlon II x2, DDR2 memory. You might as well do a completely fresh build because you aren't going to find parts to use as upgrades without replacing the whole system.

Thermaltake Engine 27 HSF

TR did a new article quite some time ago about this little cooler and it seemed to garner a lot of interest. A user on the PCMR subreddit bought the Thermaltake version and decided to run some tests. I think it's worth a little look-see. The HSF is rated for only a 75w TDP but the test was run on a ...
