Re: Flash Card Unreadable.....Options?

This happened to me recently with my 32GB USB drive. I was getting a "The file or directory is corrupt and non-readable" message. If you are getting the same, Microsoft suggests the following: 1. Click Start, and then click Run. 2. In the Open box, type chkdsk /f <drive>:, where <drive> is...

I'm going to Hilton Head

So my friend wins an all-expense paid trip to Hilton Head, SC through his work. His wife, who works in a school district, can't get the time off. So he asks me if I want to go with. I'm like, hmmm, let me think about it....Uh, YEAH! We'll be heading out this Sunday, March 30th and returning on Wedne...

If you don't need to interact with the remote computer's desktop GUI, Start > Run > \\remotecomputername\c$ will allow you to access the C: drive to copy/move files to and fro.

Shutdown.bat file

I'm a very amateur batch file person looking for a simple fix to my problem here. I am trying to write a simple batch file that will shutdown the local computer. I want to be able to input the number of seconds and then pass that to the shutdown -t parameter. Here's what it looks like so far: @echo ...

Re: Are Vizio LCD HDTV's decent?

Run, don't walk away from anything Vizio. They are the RCA of the 21st century. Good enough for grandmas and people who don't know better. If you're looking for a decent and cheap LCD, go Philips. Samsung and Sony on the high end. Avoid Sharp, they've banding issues with their TVs. IMO if you're go...

Are Vizio LCD HDTV's decent?

TigerDirect has a 42" LCD HDTV for sale at $1100. Are Vizio HDTV's any good? Or is it truly a case of 'you get what you pay for'? Here's the link to the one that I am considering: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3538898&CatId=2815 If Vizio's are no...

Windows Explorer? Right-click the columns and 'bit rate' is an option there. You can just do a search for *.mp3 and then in the search window at that column. Hmmm....interesting. Ripping my CD Collection (again)

It has been about 6 years since I ripped my CD collection to my hard drive. Back then, my HDD space was more limited, so I initially ripped my CD's at 192kbps. I have more recently (<3 years) changed that to use the -alt preset extreme setting (resulting in songs with ~400-600kbps) as I acquired new...
