Re: High or low fps?

The US Air Force has done tests which prove that the human eye can interpret and differentiate images displayed on screen for only 1/220th of a second. However, that's a single stationary image, and your eyeballs really can't be compared to monitors or cameras. They don't work the same way, and the...

Re: High or low fps?

60 FPS is great. Your brain can't notice anything much higher so no point in making your compooter **** it's pants The actual impact is questionable as it's dependent on a few things, but it is definitely noticeable. That said, I don't get much out of it in most titles. I still prefer 60, but rarel...

Your right :-? 16299 is also known as the Fall Creators Update or version 1709). However small a chance that the driver lost control of the fans on the video card? When given possibilities that range between very likely and almost unheard of, I tend to prefer very likely. I would guess a power issu...

Re: AMD Graphics Card Issue After Latest Windows 10 Update

The funny part is, 16299 isn't even the current Windows 10 version. And 18.1.1 isn't the current AMD driver.

Even if it is true, damaged hardware has next to nothing to do with updates or drivers.

Even my first gen Sandforce drive still works last I checked, but it's OCZs first PCI-E drive so not quite up to the standards people expect today. And glitches on files larger than 4GB in some scenarios, so...yeah. I don't use it anymore. Still, all my OCZ drives were great and I'm using some AMD b...

Cool story I know right? You'd think they were spammers. I still prefer PC for kb+m on some stuff but since I'm not that into 120/144hz gaming (I like it, but it seems more like something a PvPer would want more than anyone else) the X1X hits what I need as far as quality and smoothness. Re: So, mechanical keyboards

Heh, I had no idea HP was selling mechanical keyboards; it looks like a fairly generic 104-key backlit. I imagine they're just slapping their name on something that was already out there. At least the price looks reasonable. The marketing blurb is pretty ridiculous though: "Command a destructi...

Re: So, mechanical keyboards

I just picked up an HP Omen keyboard a few months ago because I felt like it. The clicking is a little annoying, but I expected it and can ignore. Nice that I can lower the backlighting to a really low setting so I can leave it on and forget about it. I do use it at night, but strong ambient light i...

On the plus side, ARMs newer chips coming out might make for a more useful ARM64 Windows box.

Naturally, for the most part anyone who needs a VLC box already has one or two or three or seventeen.

I'd be making sure the power cable to the X is secure, toying with the 4k settings on the box then asking Samsung and MS about it. I've heard about it happening before though I can't recall if there was any specific cause. In case of hardware issues if there's an MS store near you can usually do sam...

And yes, it has its own firewall built in with SP2 and beyond. (Though it only blocks inbound and doesn't do significant logging iirc.)

So...we should be slanging AMD for this...because theoretically they might be restricting regions on a seller that probably wouldn't make a dent in Europe or the US anyway?

I'm not seeing where the problem is. If ASrock sells enough to get a seat at the table I'm sure they will.

Those are both slightly amped up sRGB panels. It's arguable that either of them substantially benefit from 10-bit. 10-bit is just going to make them metamer machines. As I recall the CHG70 is still under debate about being capable of 10-bit. IIRC other companies are using that panel and saying it's...
