Re: Cyberpunk 2077

wow I didn't even realize the forum was still up :p

I got it at launch and enjoyed it a while. Haven't really felt like finishing the plot even though I'm probably 90% of the way through it but I do that with a lot of games.

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda

They make money through volume. They claim 15 million users right now. That's only gonna go up. 15 million at year at $10/mo (which I'm assuming is average between the new PC price, Xbox price, Game Pass Ultimate, and people on $1 trials) works out to be like $1.75 billion a year. You gotta figure ...

It does feel like the cost on this stuff has gotten out of hand. I'm going to have to be a lot more careful with my yearly hardware budget from now on.

Yes, though it didn't seem to be as bad.

I wish I knew what was happening. Or if we can expect a full fix in March. If not I might get annoyed.

I solved almost all my black screen issues by running games in a window.

Turning HDR off can also help, though it's not a cure.

This is not what I would've expected out of a GPU launch, nevermind past that.

Re: Raytracing support in Remedy's Control

I played it on a 5700 XT and don't feel cheated at all. It looked great.

Seemed like HDR support would've added a lot to the experience in some areas, and I'd guess far more people can and would use that than RTX already heh.

For significantly less, if the expected prices are accurate.

Plus the not needing a bigger power supply and etc thing.

I love my 5700 XT so far. Lack of HDMI 2.1 is the only thing worth complaining about (or Quantum Break, but one game...heh.)

Huh, DX11 and 12 on this game.

Kind of expected it to just be 11, given how long they stayed on 9.

Well I think I found the one game I play that really doesn't like this card much: Quantum Break is a stuttery mess on here at 1440p.

I'm assuming (and hoping) Control will have a much better engine.

Well, with drive capacities being what they are these days, single-bay is probably enough for most people unless you want to run some sort of redundancy (RAID-1/5/6/10). I've had pretty good longevity on my drives overall also, not worried about one failing on me at all. Most of my important stuff ...
